Waukegan is a diverse community composed of 55% of students on the free and reduced lunch program and 32% are part of the English Language Learners program. 31 | Progress Made During Prior Year (approximately 50 words) | In the 2021-2022 school year, MJMS met the SEL needs of students through the implementation of counseling interventions based on an assessment of various data points including school-wide Panorama data, Calm Classroom, classroom SEL and PBIS lessons, tiered attendance interventions, multiple community partnerships, and the introduction of the BAM program. MJMS also successfully implemented Restorative Practices which was one of the main factors that influenced a reduction of discipline referrals by 35%. | |||||||||||||||
