Students in the Teaching and Learning with Emerging Technologies (TLET) programme must complete the OOL6100 course, while students in ALL OTHER Graduate programmes must complete the OOL6001 course.

Online Undergraduate Orientation

Phase 1: Introduction to the Learning Exchange: July 15 - August 3
Phase 2: Programme Advising Session: July 29 - August 9
Phase 3: Programme Delivery Department Orientation (PDDO): August 5 - August 24
Phase 4: Course orientation with course facilitators: August 26 - August 31
Graduate Induction Courses
It is expected that students will complete their Induction Course prior to registration for the courses in the actual Programme

Online Undergraduate Orientation
The Online Orientation is self-paced.
Duration and aim of each phase:
Phase 1 - (3 weeks) - Assists students to develop the relevant navigational skills to work effectively in the online environment
Phase 2 - (2 weeks) - Students will be made aware of their programme structure through meetings with their Programme Managers and other staff roles and members in PDD. Through these meetings, our staff try to ensure that students are prepared for the upcoming Registration period. Sessions are held via the Blackboard Collaborate web-conferencing tool. The links to each session will be available in the Online Orientation space.
Phase 3 - (3 weeks) - Students will be prepared for their “academic journey” in the Learning Exchange. Students will be given the opportunity to demonstrate what was learnt during Phase 1 in the “Introduction to the Learning Exchange”. Students will be given activities that simulate how activities are conducted in an actual course.
Phase 4 - (1 week) - Students will interact with their Course Coordinators/Course Instructors and e-Tutors in their registered course space(s). The aim of this phase is to give students an induction to each course for which they have registered for the semester; an overview of what is expected of the learner/student; the opportunity to meet and start interacting with facilitators and peers; and guidance on updating their profiles.

Note: A live session was scheduled to kick-off the Orientation (initially scheduled for July 11 but was rescheduled to the following week due to severe technical challenges). The recordings for the rescheduled sessions are available for review in the Online Orientation space.
