The spreadsheet on the other tab is an attempt to merge aspects of several lists:

- From the CSO listing of 421 districts of June 2018: Province codes, district codes, and estimates of total population for 2018-2019 (the solar year 1397).

- From the CSO listing of 414 districts of August 2016: estimates of total population for 2018-2019 (the solar year 1395).

- From AGCHO listings of 399 districts: Province codes, district codes, with a few provisional codes for districts not on AGCHO's 399 districts list.

- From USFOR-A / Resolute support, population estimates from the January 2018 SIGAR report to Congress, based on a 407 district set.

To make the various sources more directly comparable, we have added columns in which we restate population estimates for split districts. Abshar and Dara, for instance, are each included in CSO's 421 district set as separate districts, with separate 2018-2019 population estimates. The 399 district set, however, sees Abshar as part of Dara. We have therefore created a column of 2018-2019 estimates that sums up the estimates for Abshar and Dara on the Dara row, for comparison with CSO 2016-2017 estimates and USFOR-A estimates that have also been restated to a 399 district basis.
