Our Impact:
The Seesaw Library takes on a cross-curricular, liberatory approach to teaching computer science that empowers students to create to improve their world. Each lesson will leverage best practices to ensure that students are able to showcase their learning through multimodal activities. A mixture of hands-on and digital learning experiences help students make connections to Computer Science and the world around them, making it easier to apply their skills within their everyday lives.

Our Approach:

- Built-in scaffolds make concepts accessible and support student independence.
- Personally authentic learning experiences are reflective of students’ backgrounds, cultures, interests, prior knowledge, and environments.

Digital Leadership With Bean
Grades K-3
In this collection, students will learn, practice, and apply the skills of digital leadership. Digital Leadership with Bean is an interactive hands-on collection that teaches students the skills to become responsible digital leaders. Students jump into Bean's life and explore real-world choices and practice being safe, balancing screen time, being kind, and much more. Students use their prior knowledge and diverse experiences to apply these digital leadership skills to their own lives.
Each lesson is approx. 35 min.

The Digital Leaders
Grades 4-5
In this collection, students will learn alongside the Digital Leaders how to engage in the digital world safely and responsibly. Students will jump into diverse superheroes' lives through a graphic novel experience to practice real-world choices that build their lership skills, and teach them how to keep themselves, their personal information, friendships, and digital footprint safe.
Each lesson is approx. 50 min.

Computational Thinking
Grades K-2
In this collection, student will learn and apply the four pillar concepts in computational thinking: decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithmic thinking. These storybook lessons are rooted in real-life, non-technology based, and developmentally appropriate circumstances. Students will have hands-on and collaborative experiences to deepen and construct computational thinking knowledge.
Each lesson is approx. 40 min.

Computational Thinking Adventures
Grades 3-5
In this collection, students will learn about and practice the four pillars of computational thinking, which are decomposition, algorithmic thinking, abstraction, and pattern recognition. These cognitive skills are the foundation for future learning in computer science. Students will learn and practice each skill while exploring the world with the Adventure Team. Activities are cross-curricular and integrated with multiple subject areas including ELA, math, science, and SEL.
Each lesson is approx. 60 min.

Code the World
Grades K-2
In this collection, K-2nd grade students follow fun narratives to learn about and practice foundational coding concepts with their friends, the Code Crew. Students collaborate and problem solve through plugged and unplugged activities. Using Scratch and Scratch Jr., students create engaging projects by applying foundational computer science concepts.

Grades 3-5
In this collection, students complete hands-on and digital coding missions to help save Planet Robo. Students learn about foundational coding concepts through secret missions. Using Scratch, students create engaging projects by applying foundational computer science concepts.

In this collection, students examine and interpret data in developmentally and age appropriate ways. Their data guide, Hops, guides students through data visualizations and how to make meaning from data. Students participate in class and partner discussions to practice their data analysis skills.

In this collection, students apply Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math concepts to creatively problem solve in authentic ways.
