Army National Guard Service Cancelable LoanThe Service-Cancelable Loan (SCL) Program helps members of the GA National Guard pay tuition costs at any public college or university in the University System of GA or Technical College System of GA. This can be online or on-campus study. Brian Jordan Foundation One of the activities of the Foundation is it’s College Scholarship program which provides $1250/year for 4 years to each recipient. Lockheed Martin STEM ScholarshipBeginning in 2019, we are awarding 200 scholarships of $10,000 per student – renewable each year. The program will continue to add up to 200 new recipients each year, and will be open to individuals studying engineering or computer science that demonstrate financial need and come from underrepresented or underserved communities. SCAD Distinguished Scholars AwardThis scholarship is for $20,000 annually and requires a nomination from a teacher or your school counselor. Your application to SCAD and the nomination must be submitted by Feb 1. SCAD is looking for students with a minimum 1410 on SAT or 30 on ACT, GPA of 3.75, stellar visual arts, performing arts, or equestrian capabilities, honors and awards from competitions or other recognitions, and leadership skills demonstrated through co-currricular or extracurricular involvement. Army National Guard State Service Scholarship for Georgia Military CollegeThe GMC State Service Scholarship Program provides for up to 39 two-year scholarships for service in the Georgia National Guard. The only cost to the student is an application fee and a room deposit. Recognizing GMC as one of the nation's top Military Junior Colleges, the Georgia General Assemby established the scholarship through the HOPE program. The scholarship covers room and board, tuition and fees, uniforms, and books and supplies. 2019 Krimson Community Foundation ScholarshipEach year and in cooperation with the Alpharetta-Smyrna Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated, the Krimson Community Foundation, Inc. presents scholarship awards to deserving graduating seniors to assist in covering some portion of their college expenses. Furman ScholarsThis program requires a nomination by a counselor. Students must be current juniors who are strong candidates and meet the following criteria: a genuine interest in education in the liberal arts and sciences; a high school weighted GPA of 3.5 or higher; at least a 1360 on the SAT, a 1360 on the PSAT, or a 29 on the ACT or Aspire (excluding writing); significant involvement in extracurricular activities and community service; and demonstrated leadership potential. Recipients are eligible for at least $20,000 per year, $80,000 over four years, in scholarships upon acceptance to Furman University. Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) Biology ScholarshipsThe Biology Department at Middle Tennessee State University has three $1,500 scholarships available to first-semester freshman. The recipients of the awards must be graduating high school seniors, must declare Biology as their major and be entering MTSU for the Fall 2019 semester. Successful applicants will also need to demonstrate an interest in the life sciences and have career aspirations in a biological field. The scholarships will be awarded based on the students’ ACT scores, high-school GPA, and their responses on the attached application form. In order to apply, a student must have an ACT score of 25 or better and a high-school GPA of 3.5 or above. The deadline for application is March 31, 2019.
