Technology & Transfer SummitAACRAOThe Technology & Transfer Summit offers professional development to individuals in higher education looking to expand their depth of knowledge and awareness about emerging trends in technology, transfer, or both. Given the continual integration of technology with the academic process, this summit will provide a professional learning experience that can be tailored to current positions or the evolution of future roles.

Online courses that are focused on the first-year experience and students in transitionNational Resource Center for the First-Year Experience and Students in TransitionCourse "Understanding and Supporting Transfer Students"
Transfer students are a significant and growing undergraduate population on campuses across the U.S. Promoting transfer student success requires institutional agents to understand and support students’ navigation of the transfer process and their acclimatation to new institutions. As such, this course will provide foundational information about transfer, including national trends in transfer. Participants will also explore characteristics of transfer students, assets they bring with them to their institutions, and institutional barriers that impact their success. Participants will engage in learning activities and create equity-minded actionable plans that reinforce support for transfers. No textbook is required for this course.

Positive transfer cultures at institutions are essential to persistence and completion of transfer students. The participants will be guided to apply what they learn during the track to create a set of plans for one or more innovative transfer transformation actions that they will pursue at their own institutions following the event.

Webinar: CUNY Faculty Views on TransferBTAG (Bronx Transfer Affinity Group)In this webinar, participants will learn about the views on student transfer of almost 4,000 CUNY faculty, in all 20 CUNY undergraduate colleges. More specifically, the webinar will include faculty's accurate impressions and common myths about transfer. Myths will be busted and transfer facts presented. There will be particular focus on the differences in views between community and senior college faculty, and how these differences may hinder facilitation of transfer.
