Narrative Summary: During the 1st semester of the 18-19 school year there were 492 out of school suspensions, 3 expulsions, and 0 exclusions.
For out-of-school suspensions, 0.6% were for students who registered as Native American, 2.6% were for students who registered as Asian, 13.9% were for students who registered as Hispanic, 38.4% were for students who registered as Black, 38.0% were for students who registered as White, and 6.5% were for students who registered under more than one race. 53.0% of out-of-school suspensions were for students who were identified as students with a disability. The 3 main offenses that resulted in out-of-school suspensions were physical aggression (31.3%), fighting (24.3%), and alcohol, drugs, tobacco, paraphernalia (23.2%). These three offense categories accounted for 78.8% of out-of-school suspensions. 378 students accounted for the 492 out-of-school suspension. For expulsions, 66.7% of the three students were subject to expulsion registered as students who are white while 33.3% of the three students subject to expulsions registered as a student who is black. 66.7% of the three students who were subject to expulsion were identified as students while a disability. The offense category for all 3 expulsions was alcohol, drugs, tobacco, paraphernalia.
