Sample1,500 US adults recruited through Prolific's opt-in online panel; 1,323 self-reported being registered to vote

Design2×2 between-subjects experiment. Each respondent was randomly assigned, with equal probability, to one of four versions of the same two-candidate House race. Party affiliation and all three policy positions per candidate were held constant; only the two labels varied.

FiguresAll percentages and means are unweighted. Percentages are shares of respondents who gave a valid answer to that question, so item non-response is excluded from the base rather than shown as a category.

CautionThis is an opt-in panel that over-represents 2024 Harris voters. The overall Democratic-versus-Republican split is not a national generic-ballot estimate; the experiment estimates the effect of the labels.
