National Officers of Longitudinal Advocacy (NOLAs)2Yes1 Year
August 2026 to July 2027
Description
As a National Officer of Longitudinal Advocacy, you will help lead the organization for the Spring National Day of Action - from the first planning meeting to final handshake on Parliament Hill. You and your co-officer will take the backgrounder the Fall team built, revise it against what actually happened in those meetings, and construct a second campaign that pushes the same asks further rather than starting the argument over. This role involves finding and booking speakers, scheduling advocacy training, organizing the next round of representative meetings, planning a political reception and a social event, and building a schedule that holds all of it together across a single intense weekend in Ottawa. Judgement is required to read how the political climate has shifted since November, where each ask has gained ground or stalled, and deciding what that should change about the Spring. You will also work closely with the Director, Associate Directors, and the National Officers of Political Action to help our National Officer of Health Policy develop a federal pre-budget submission related to our Asks. This is an exciting role with a significant amount of collaborative opportunities, responsibility, and potential to elevate the impact our advocacy work has through the National Day of Action - the flagship event of the CFMS.
