Journalism Club Cara Quinn Students will be introduced to the concept of news writing and evaluate media with a critical lens. The course will consist of basic formatting, style and structure of journalism writing, with focus on purpose and audience, and apply the fundamentals of the AP style of writing. The ultimate goal is publishing student work for the school newspaper, The Bobcat Prowl and external media sources such as the Hartford Courant, Journal Inquirer, and East Windsor Patch. Students in this course will become staff reporters for the school newspaper and become familiar with the elements of writing effective news stories, editorials, and features. Additional topics will include the study of layout, photojournalism, the First Amendment and media ethics, while developing research and interviewing skills.

Student representatives are typically recommended to the principal by faculty and staff. Science Honor Society ClubApril DavisThe Science Honor Society Club is a club which aims to promote interest and excellence in science. The club encourages members to pursue their interest in science and provides opportunities to learn and grow. Members of the club are encouraged to participate in science related activities and events such as science fairs and research competitions. By participating in these activities, club members will develop their skill and knowledge in science and gain valuable experience that can help them in their future academic and career pursuits. Our activities will include Science Bowls and guest speakers.
