2025Play It Forward$250.95$250.95Play It Forward is a student-led athletic gear reuse initiative in
collaboration with Wesleyan Athletics and the Sustainability
Office. We collect gently used athletic shoes and apparel from
the Wesleyan community and redistribute them to local
organizations in Middletown.

2025Long Lane Farm Garlic$1,070.00$1,070.00The farm is applying for funding to replace the ~40 lbs of garlic that was stolen from the farm in addition to one of our harvest baskets. We hope to gain access to this seed garlic as soon as possible since we plant typically in mid-late October to overwinter the garlic.

2025Composting Bin - Swings$3,746.68$3,746.68Last fall, compost interns applied for funding to expand public compost collection. It took a while for Facilities to complete its analysis to decide to continue expansion of the Big Belly bins seen around campus; in the meantime, Swings/the compost team have expressed interest in adding a 3-bin system there to improve compostables collection.

2025Save a Meal CT$2,588.04$2,588.04The purpose of my initiative is to reduce food waste. Restaurants waste a lot of meals/food at the end of the day when it's thrown away. We partner with restaurants on Main Street and they post food/meals at the end of the day to sell at a large discount. Students at Wesleyan purchase these meals and metrics are recorded to see the amount of carbon emissions saved.

We hope to provide a creative outlet for students of any background or experience to engage with fashion and sustainability via art and second-hand clothes sales, clothing swaps, sustainable sourcing of photoshoot resources, and digital focused production to cut down on physical waste.

2025RC's Self-Care Study Break$700.00$700.00The Self-Care Study Break is an *annual program* led by The RC that exposes students to different self-care products that they can make from all natural ingredients and gain insight into the field of herbalism. This year's workshop will focus on making room sprays, lip balms, and body butters from plant products.

2025Sustainability Office: Composting Bin - Poster Holder$1,298.39$1,298.39This summer, the Sustainability Office made posters for the Big Belly trash/recycling bins around campus to go into the sign holders that exist on some of these. Facilities has offered this space to do sustainability advertising. Many of the bins don't have the sign holders, though, so we'd like to add them.

2025Chemistry Science Saturday$521.26$521.26Our project is an event called Science Saturday that the CHEM241/2 class puts on every semester. We invite ~40 children (K-5) from the Middletown community to come to Wesleyan for a day of science fun and learning on a Saturday from 1-4pm. This semester, we are holding the event on November 15th, and our theme focuses on earth systems such as geology, zoology, and hydrology. Through this event, we always hope to ignite and increase excitement for science for young children. Specifically for this theme, we want students to leave having learned more about the processes that occur every day for our home planet, and think about how important it is to maintain our environment so these systems continue to work properly.

2025Monthly Clean-Up with ESN$55.00$55.00This monthly cleanup project is intended to last as long as it can under the leadership of compassionate environmentally-conscious leaders. By connecting students passionate about environmental action, we hope to build strong leadership roles within ESN to build on continuous projects, but also plan and implement greater, wide-impact projects focusing on environmental stewardship for local natural communities.

2025Long Lane Farm Water Station$884.30$884.30The purpose of this project is to clean up the wash station on Long Lane farm. Currently, there is a structure stuck in the ground with a couple different hose attachments coming out of it. It sits in the dirt, so the area gets incredibly muddy. The goal is reduce the amount of mud buildup and making the farmers’ lives easier and cleaner.
