The following is a quick review of items to be covered with all volunteers prior

to a gleaning. These items are required to meet the new produce safety requirements.

Absolutely no pets are allowed in any fields

All volunteers must stay in the specific fields assigned by gleaning coodinator

Bathroom use in fields is Prohibited ( One must use a bathroom facility)

Hands must be washed with soap and water for 30 seconds prior to returning to the field

All wastewater from washing of hands after restroom use must be collected.

If entering another facility on the farm site verify with farmer the proper path to take
16
or if shoes need to be removed or covered.

Leave no trace. All trash is to be collected. This includes items like apple cores, orange rinds, banana peels, etc..

Verify any containers or transportation beds have been cleaned prior to produce contact

If using tools; verify they have been cleaned prior to use. (if cleaning on site remember water is to be collected)
