Why Use a Workplan?
9
- It is optional to use a workplan. The goal of a workplan is to help you identify, prioritize, and track Gold Leaf actions for your community and easily access resources. The information in this spreadsheet will also help program staff share what your community is doing with other program participants in the Community Projects Spreadsheet.

- Use the Community Projects Spreadsheet to see what other communities are working on and find inspiration from their projects, contact information, and opportunities to collaborate.

- Keep your community's information up-to-date in the box above. To see how we've broken the state down into regions, look at our Regional Map below.
- Each of the 44 Gold Leaf actions are listed on the workplan spreadsheet. Fill out each action's columns as you work on them. There are numerous optional categories that you can choose to use to coordinate your program. You can also edit the workplan.
- Check out the Example Action below for tips on how to use the workplan.

- Upgrade lighting & weather stripping
Energy audit completed in 2020 identified recommendations for upgraded lighting and weather stripping in Fire Station 1. Energy utility has rebates but we want to see if there is any federal or state money available. Either way, we have money set aside to do it this year. Leaf Goals: We can achieve a leaf goal if we finish the project this year.

MN CAF Goals:
Achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. (MN CAF, pg 13.)

Community Goals:
Goal 5% annual reduction of city energy consumption - utilizing B3 tracking to show when we've achieved this goal. Will need to ensure building is hooked up to B3 meters. Work with them to ensure accurate reporting.

EXPLANATION
- Each Gold Leaf Action is linked to its Resource Page so you can easily access the details on that Action.
EXPLANATION
- We've put in some rankings in a drop-down menu to help you organize your Gold Leaf Actions. You can organize by priority or difficulty level.

- The only yearly requirement is that you accomplish CC1 - Green Team. Otherwise, you pick which Actions you want to accomplish and the order to tackle them in.
EXPLANATION
- There are 3 different ways to achieve recognition through the Gold Leaf Program, all of which are listed on each Action's guide. Find out more details about goals in the Gold Leaf Welcome Guide.

- You only achieve recognition for new actions you accomplish during the current reporting year.

- Use this column to track which goals you want to achieve this year or keep an eye on in the future. You can achieve a Leaf Goal, MN CAF Goal, and Communinty Goal for the same Action all in one year! You don't need to pick one.
EXPLANATION
- Program staff will use the project status and notes in this section to update the "Community Projects" spreadsheet on the Gold Leaf website. List what you want other communities to know so they can gain inspiration from your projects, reach out to ask how you've achieved them (and vice versa), and create connections for partnerships on projects, grants, trainings, or any other ideas you may have.

What do the actions in the drop-down menu mean?
- Looking for Partnerships: My community would like to partner on a project.
- Interested: My community is planning to or would like to work on this action in the future.
- In progress: My community is currently working to implement this project. This is a good way for other participants to learn about actions that take a long-time to complete, like a renewable energy project.
- Complete: This action is complete. If this was a new action for you, report it to Gold Leaf so you gain recognition for it!
- Blank line (-------- ): No action happening, nothing planned here, or nothing to report.
