In Oklahoma, interim studies are research and review sessions conducted by legislative committees between regular legislative sessions. They allow lawmakers to examine complex issues, gather data, hear from experts, and explore policy solutions before introducing new bills. The public should care because these studies shape the laws that impact daily life, from criminal justice to health care. Oklahomans for Criminal Justice Reform (OCJR) participates in interim studies by providing data, policy expertise, and community perspectives, ensuring that reform efforts are informed, equitable, and grounded in real-world experience.
