Actual ingame damage is affected by many factors, especially when it comes to missile damage. These calculations ignore all those factors, so assume that all projectiles in the missile damage spreadsheet were fired point blank under ideal conditions. In the real (game) world, results may and in fact will vary. All these numbers are nothing more than averages and will rarely be matched by in battle experiences. Some weapons like axes have additional bonuses against armor or shields that are not quantified here. That said, these spreadsheets should give you a general idea of how effective any given unit may be against the armour of any other unit (assuming it can overcome the target's defense skill).
