| PROJECT # | DELIVERABLE | START DATE | END DATE | QUARTER | DEAL SIZE | HOW DID I GET THIS CLIENT? | ADDITIONAL INFO
| 1 | DESIGN & DEV (WORDPRESS) | 3/19/2016 | 5/6/2016 | Q1 | $1,000 | COLD CALLING | Identified a niche I was knowledgeable in, made a list of all CrossFit gyms to contact after seeing they had a shitty site, then just crushed cold calling. I got yelled at on numerous occasions and it was humiliating. But I was hungry. Then finally, Bob from CFGB gave me the time of day, and after 2-3 calls, closed the $1,000 deal.
| 2 | WORDPRESS CUSTOMIZATION | 4/26/2016 | 5/24/2016 | Q2 | $2,000 | REFERRAL (FROM COUSIN) | This was a referral from my cousin, also a designer. When I quit my job I hit her up telling her I was happy to take on any projects she needed help with. About 4-6 weeks later, she brought this job to me.
| 3 | DESIGN & DEV (WORDPRESS) | 5/15/2016 | 6/2/2016 | Q2 | $1,174 | UPWORK PROPOSAL + SOCIAL MEDIA | Upwork sucks. I sent 20+ proposals and probably set up 1 or 2 meetings. This prospect's assistant got in touch with me via FACEBOOK 1-2 weeks after I sent my proposal on Upwork. After submitting the Upwork proposal, I hit up my prospects on as many channels as possible to make sure they got my application.
| 4 | WORDPRESS CUSTOMIZATION | 5/18/2016 | 6/27/2016 | Q2 | $1,500 | PREVIOUS CLIENT (#2) | More work from my cousin Rachel.
| 5 | WORDPRESS CUSTOMIZATION | 5/22/2016 | 5/31/2016 | Q2 | $1,000 | FRIEND FROM HIGH SCHOOL | This was a buddy of mine who had been following along with my journey. He knew I was doing web design so hit me up about getting a site built for him. This is another lesson: document the journey and make sure your network knows that you're accepting new projects!
| 6 | UI DESIGN | 6/1/2016 | 6/6/2016 | Q2 | $330 | FACEBOOK GROUP STATUS | I replied to a Facebook group status in the Next Gen Summit. Be sure to join as many Facebook groups as possible, be active, add value and be sure to jump on opportunities like these!
| 7 | DESIGN & DEV (WORDPRESS) | 6/21/2016 | 8/16/2016 | Q2 | $2,000 | FACEBOOK GROUP STATUS | I got this client the same way as project #6: replying to FB group status in the Next Gen Summit.
| 8 | WORDPRESS CUSTOMIZATION | 6/30/2016 | 8/4/2016 | Q2 | $750 | REFERRAL (FROM FRIEND) | This referral came from a friend of mine, who I met through the Rich20Something Facebook group. She was aware of what I was working on and asked for my help on a project. Again, be sure people know what you're working on!
| 9 | WORDPRESS EDITS | 7/8/2016 | Q3 | $140 | REFERRAL (FRIEND FROM FB GROUP) | This project came from a referral through the Next Gen Summit.
| 10 | WORDPRESS CUSTOMIZATION | 7/17/2016 | 12/1/2016 | Q3 | $2,000 | FACEBOOK GROUP STATUS | Facebook group status in Next Gen Summit.
| 11 | CLICKFUNNELS LANDING PAGE | 7/23/2016 | Q3 | $200 | FB GROUP (FOUNDR CLUB MEMBERSHIP) | This was a major turning point for me. Foundr Magazine is a massive brand and I joined their membership community. I posted a short intro about myself with a link to my portfolio. The founder/CEO Nathan Chan messaged me asking me if I did ClickFunnels landing page design. I had never designed anything in ClickFunnels but I said yes because this was a massive opportunity. I immediately did my research about how to use ClickFunnels, designed the page, delivered and Nathan was stoked. Having Foundr in my portfolio (plus Nathan's testimonial) gave me some great momentum that I was able to use to land other projects and boost my credibility.

| 15 | WEBSITE DESIGN | 8/13/2016 | 9/30/2016 | Q3 | $1,500 | FACEBOOK GROUP STATUS | Facebook group status in Next Gen Summit. At this point, most of the people in the group knew me and knew what I did, and many of them would start tagging me in these statuses, because they could vouch for my work.

| 20 | PROJECT PORTFOLIO GRAPHIC DESIGN | 10/6/2016 | Q4 | $400 | FACEBOOK GROUP STATUS | Facebook group status in Next Gen Summit.
| 21 | DESIGN & DEV (WORDPRESS) | 10/19/2016 | 2/2/2017 | Q4 | $2,500 | FB MESSAGE | I was speaking with Deep who mentioned he had stumbled onto my freelance design Facebook page and loved the work. Turned out he needed his website redone so we negotiated a deal. I initially offered $4,000 but reduced my offer after Deep was able to compensate with press features. Think outside the box!
| 22 | WORDPRESS EDITS | 10/23/2016 | Q4 | $375 | REFERRAL FROM PREVIOUS CLIENT (#9, #12) | This project came as a result of a referral from Lauer Commercial who I had worked for previously.

| 26 | LOGO AND GRAPHIC DESIGN | 11/16/2016 | 12/28/2016 | Q4 | $819 | EXISTING FRIEND/CONNECTION | I had been in discussion with a design/dev business whose owners were my friends parents. We had spoken several times about prospective jobs, and finally after months of talking, this project came through. Stay persistent.
| 27 | DESIGN & DEV (WORDPRESS) | 11/18/2016 | 12/1/2016 | Q4 | $2,000 | HAVE TO CHECK
| 28 | DESIGN & DEV (WORDPRESS) | 11/25/2016 | Q4 | $5,000 | INBOUND WEBSITE LEAD | This was one of my first inbound leads that converted to a sale. After the prospect saw some posts on my freelance design facebook page, they were intrigured and navigated to my site. They requested a consultation and we closed the deal shortly afterward. Always make sure that your website has ONE single call to action, so that the visitor can easily jump on the call with you.
| 29 | DESIGN & DEV (WORDPRESS) | 12/1/2016 | Q4 | $3,500 | PREVIOUS CLIENT (#7) | This was the second project for this client. The first one was a $2,000 website. This time, I told him in advance that my prices had increased and quoted $4,000. He countered and said $3,000 and I said okay I'll do $3,500. And boom, I had nearly doubled my prices with an existing client. What's that show you? You are the expert, and you should always increase your prices!
| 30 | DESIGN & DEV (WORDPRESS) | 12/22/2016 | 4/6/2017 | Q4 | $2,000 | INBOUND EMAIL | This was another high profile client, like Foundr. Nathan Latka is a very successful businessman and host of THE TOP podcast which has 5million+ downloads. He got in touch with me via email and we had an in-person meeting in NYC then closed the deal shortly afterward. This project became a disaster as soon as the design stage ended and we moved into development due to complications with podcast data. Unfortunately this job did not get completed, Nathan was not happy and did not make his final $1,000 payment because we couldn't complete the job due to the podcast data issue. I also invested well over $1,000 into this project (10+ revisions) to try to please the client (who treated me like a freelancer in every sense of the word), but it couldn't be fixed. Major learning lesson here.
| 31 | DESIGN & DEV (WORDPRESS) | 1/4/2017 | 3/2/2017 | Q1 | $2,000 | FACEBOOK GROUP STATUS | Facebook group status in Rich20Something.
| 32 | DESIGN & DEV (WORDPRESS) | 1/20/2017 | 1/1/2017 | Q1 | $3,000 | REFERRAL FROM FRIEND | This project quickly became a disaster. The client was near impossible to please and every attempt I made drove us further from what she wanted. I still did not have a revision policy in place and I spent HOURS on end trying to please this damn client. Even hired a new designer to try to help. Eventually the client requested a refund and was pissed. I had already spent more than $1,500 worth of my time, so I told her I would not be issuing a refund, and we parted ways. Sometimes in design, your creative visions won't align, and as soon as you sense this, it usually means it's time to part ways.
| 33 | DESIGN & DEV (HTML) | 2/17/2017 | 4/15/2017 | Q1 | $1,000 | REFERRAL FROM PREVIOUS CLIENT (#14, #18)
| 34 | DESIGN & DEV (WORDPRESS) | 2/18/2017 | 4/19/2017 | Q1 | $3,700 | EXISTING FRIEND/CONNECTION
| 35 | WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT | 2/24/2017 | 4/1/2017 | Q1 | $1,500 | SLACK CHANNEL | I got this client from a conversation I had on Slack. Similar to Facebook, Slack channels/groups are a great way to meet business owners and people who could become your clients. Identify a few of these high quality sources of clients, and again, be active, add value and make sure people know what you do.
| 36 | ANIMATED VIDEO | 2/24/2017 | 8/8/2017 | Q1 | $15,000 | PREVIOUS CLIENT (#7, #29) | This was a cool project. My client needed an animated video done, told me his budget was $3,000. I told him I would research and find service providers for this, and act as the PM. I pinged my network, spoke with some studios/etc. and found a bunch of shitty $3K options and the only quality options were $10K+. I shared my findings with him, and we ended up settling on a studio out of Italy who quoted ~$12,000. Since I did all the leg work and research to orchestrate the deal, I charged $15,000 to my client, making $3,000 in profit just for putting the deal together. This was my first project like this, and was eye-opening to be able to make money simply for making a few introductions.
| 37 | CLICKFUNNELS LANDING PAGE | 2/25/2017 | Q1 | $500 | PREVIOUS CLIENT (#11, #16, #23, #24)
| 38 | BANNER & LOGO DESIGN | 3/12/2017 | Q1 | $150 | PREVIOUS CLIENT (#15)
| 39 | DESIGN & DEV (WORDPRESS) | 3/16/2017 | 4/9/2017 | Q1 | $1,160 | FRIEND FROM HIGH SCHOOL | A good buddy of mine told me about an incredible project he was taking on: running across the entire USA to raise money and awareness for ALS, and he partnered with Project ALS for his advenute. I was really moved by his project, and was really excited to have the opportunity to work with him. I did my best to keep costs low as possible because I was just concerned about making sure his cause and website was effective. After a few small hiccups (including a hacker!) we delivered the site and was able to profit around $600 - $700 which I was fine with. His website was beautiful, and it ended up leading to my BIGGEST website project to date with his project partner, Project ALS.
| 40 | DESIGN & DEV (WORDPRESS) | 3/17/2017 | Q1 | $10,000 | REFERRAL FROM FRIEND | Shortly after hiring my business coach, we worked together to set up a referral machine. I identified 100+ individuals in my network who were friends, previous or current clients who could send me referrals, and I incentivized them by creating a Google Doc that clearly shared the benefits of referring projects to me (25% commission). A few weeks after pinging my friend Reese, she followed up with an intro to the CMO of Dream Payments (Canadian startup with $100M+) in funding who has since become my biggest client!
| 41 | DESIGN & DEV (WORDPRESS) | 3/17/2017 | 7/4/2017 | Q1 | $1,000 | INBOUND WEBSITE LEAD | This project was a bit weird. We delivered great work, but the client was super picky. After a few revisions, the client requested that we amicably cancel the project and maintain a friendly relationship. I was fine with that, because again, it was an uphill battle at this point trying to please them.
| 42 | DEVELOPMENT (WORDPRESS) | 3/17/2017 | 3/30/2017 | Q1 | $500 | PREVIOUS CLIENT
| 43 | GRAPHIC, DESIGN & DEV (WORDPRESS) | 3/18/2017 | 6/15/2017 | Q1 | $1,750 | EXISTING CONNECTION | This was a unique one. I followed this blog and in the newsletter I saw that they were designing a book cover. I messaged the founder, told him I could design the book cover. He said the cover was handled, but he would hire me for the landing page for the book, so a few weeks later we got started.
| 44 | DESIGN & DEV (HTML) | 4/5/2017 | 5/5/2017 | Q2 | $750 | COLD OUTREACH | This project came from simply having a phone call and conversation. The founder of Kriya, Greg, and I had connected through a Facebook group and I was intrigued to learn more about his business so we setup a call. A few weeks later he hired me for a job, and also sent some additional jobs my way. All from one non-sales phone call!
| 45 | DEVELOPMENT TROUBLESHOOTING | 4/10/2017 | Q2 | $750 | NETWORKING DINNER | I bought a nearly $400 ticket to a fancy dinner for entrepreneurs. This was a very new thing for me - to spend that much freaking money on a dinner, wtf?! However I went into this dinner with one intention - generating an ROI from my investment. I ended up meeting some great people, and within 1 month of the dinner, I got two clients worth $1,000+. Spend money to make money, and don't be afraid to invest in yourself and your network.
| 46 | USER EXPERIENCE & DISCOVERY | 4/13/2017 | Q2 | $500 | NETWORKING DINNER
| 47 | DASHBOARD UI DESIGN | 4/17/2017 | 6/15/2017 | Q2 | $4,000 | PREVIOUS CLIENT (#40)
| 48 | WEBSITE DESIGN | 4/17/2017 | Q2 | $2,000 | PREVIOUS CLIENT (#7, #29, #36)
| 49 | DESIGN & DEV (WORDPRESS) | 4/17/2017 | Q2 | $18,000 | REFERRAL FROM PREVIOUS CLIENT (#39) | This was the big kahuna. After Project ALS saw the website I had created for Project Run (#39) they loved my work and reached out. I had them fill out a qualification/intake form where they shared their budget was $15K+. OH BABY! It was go time. I went through the sales call, pitched them an $18,000 website and we got started the next week. This was an amazing moment, and I actually went on to close a $4.K deal shortly afterward, making for a $22,500 day of sales! This project put me over the $100K YTD mark, allowing me to achieve my dream of running a 6-figure business.
| 50 | DESIGN & DEV (WORDPRESS) | 5/1/2017 | Q2 | $4,500 | PREVIOUS CLIENT (#31) | Similar to the above W Specialty project, this client reached out 4-6 months after our first project, and I told him I had since increased my prices. I also charged him $2,000 for the first project. This project was $4,500, and he didn't flinch. I charged $500 extra because he needed the deadline expedited, so make sure you implement the same in your business too.
