When required by the CALGreen code (see the appropriate CALGreen checklist), complete a CWM plan to document compliance with CALGreen Sections 4.408.1 (residential) and/or 5.408.1 (non-residential); Recycle and/or salvage for reuse a minimum of 65% of nonhazardous construction and demolition waste. The CWM plan (design and field verification) is subject to verification by the Campus Building Derpartment. One of the following three compliance options is to be chosen prior to any demolition debris being hauled off-site. The design (via the method chosen) is also to be completed and verified prior to any demolition debris being hauled off-site. Full documentation of the implementation (field verification) of the CWM plan is to be verified prior to obtaining a certificate of occupancy/substantial completion. 3

Option 1: Waste Stream Reduction Alternative:Provide documentation that the proposed construction generates a total combined weight of construction and demolition waste which does not exceed 3.4 pounds per square foot (low-rise residential), or 2 pounds per square foot (all other occupancies) of the total building area. Example: (Total Weight of Waste) / (Total Building Square Footage) < 3.4 psf (or 2 psf)

Option 2:Waste Management Company:Utilize a waste management company, approved by the enforcing agency, which can provide verifiable documentation that 65% of project construction and demolition waste material is diverted from the landfill.
