Digital Storytelling Rubric Resources

This document provides you with evaluation tools you may choose to use for evaluating students' digital storytelling projects. You may navigate through these resources using tabs at the bottom of the page. Below is an overview of each of the evaluative tools included in this document:

Comprehensive Rubric: This tool is a ready-to-use evaluation rubric that you can print or download to use immediately in your course. It is adapted from research conducted by Barrett (2006) that suggest the focal criteria of effective digital stories, and it consists of nine criteria.

Build-Your-Own Rubric: Like the comprehensive rubric, this tool is adapted from research conducted by Barrett (2006) and includes nine criteria relating to evaluating for effective digital stories. However, unlike the comprehensive rubric, this tool is designed for you to create a custom evaluative rubric that only includes criteria you wish to use to assess student projects.

Peer-Evaluation Checklist: This tool is a ready-to-use peer evaluation tool designed to facilitate students' sharing of critical feedback on one another's work.

Self-Evaluation Checklist: This tool is a ready-to-use checklist that guides students' reflection and personal assessment of their final or working projects.
