|Thinking aloud||Is there a way for a user to interact, like oh I like your bud, comment on it etc.?||Thought I could click the R/B/T text bits.|
Wouldn't expect to see myself in the feed.
Is photo just for the rose?
Person's name should be on the right.
R/B/T red/green/orange look like buttons.
Would like to be able to comment/comfort.
Time stamp, group indication, infinite scrolling
Virtual group (group page with people's profile pictures, recent updates)
|Don't understand how the photos relate to the RBT unit. Red, green and orange tabs are warning signals, having red for rose is confusing because it's a danger color. Feed is similar to FB. I shouldn't be seeing my own status in the feed. Maybe there should be a life status/emotion for me somewhere else. It's a way of gauging mental state? What if you don't have a rose to post this week? My friend should see that I need help, this could be indicated with a more prominent feature on the feed. Could be cool if you could combine all the roses into a "bunch", then you feel empathy for others.||I wonder why I'm seeing my own RBT?|
I feel like the red/green/orange colors don't make sense. I associate "red" with "bad"
The toolbar looks empty. Consider having the two buttons take up the whole row. Also consider having the toolbar fixed at the top of the screen.
I don't understand the order of the RBTs.
Also, I'm trying to click on the photos to see people's previous RBTs.
|viewing one’s own RBT|
|Thinking aloud||It was confusing switching from the column system to the grid system.||Agree with Laura about column vs. grid||Don't like the heading Rose Bud Thorn, should be my name. Don't like square profile photo, should be a circle. I don't like how Bud and Thorn are on the same level, Thorn should be a below bud. White background is boring, base it on my status/mood. Maybe I should see how many other people are feeling the same way as me.||Do I need to see my own profile picture so large?|
|creating one’s own RBT|
|Thinking aloud||Using different RBT symbols||Wouldn't mind viewing others' RBT histories, but would prefer not to share my RBT history with others. Maybe have the option of starring my RBTs that I want to keep/display||When something good/bad happens, I would update. What photos are available would|
I wouldn't want to update everything at the same time.
Need time to reflect.
|I feel like as I type my status, the app should be looking for others that have similar status so I can join or post to those groups. Maybe groups could only see either the Rose/Bud/Thorn, maybe I don't have anything else to write for the other 2, maybe I've had a really bad week, and I only want to share my Thorn and find out who else has gone through. I feel quite bored just typing it up and not having any live connection to people.||I wouldn't necessarily want to upload a picture. If I uploaded one it would definitely be a rose or bud picture though.|
|Current social networks||Google+, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter||Facebook, Reddit|
|Media forms||Photos, GIFs and links.||Everything - photos, video, songs, GIFs, links||Too much effort to take a photo just to communicate RBT. Would like any rich media to be generated from RBT. Maybe a map of my area where people are experiencing the same roses/emotional state as me.|
|Media sources||Emoticon type things - Rose/Bud/Thorn icons - bloody rose, purple thorn. Rose artwork that extends RBT and is customizable.|
|Last experience uploading media in a social app|
|History/ephemeral RBTs||Wants to see my RBT. See all the roses at once. See other people's RBT on their profile pictures. Allow others (depends on privacy settings) to see her history||Would like to see others' history. Would be happy sharing own history if I could put privacy settings on everything.|
|Group||Like Google+ cirles. Option to select which groups to send to. Would use groups for AEPhi, high school friends, family, college friends, student groups, a capella groups. No limit on group size. Might be good to have an Administrator. On Google+, you can make your own groups. There should be a way to combine Facebook and Google circles model.||AEPhi sorority, family, close study abroad group. Having a specific clique is good, so tend towards the Facebook closed group model.||No group|
Small groups, if there are groups. When entering a group, everyone sees the RBTS of each other.
|Comfortable having different groups and can see which group can see what. If I just want to vent, I can make it anonymous and share it to everyone on the whole app! Close friends on this group, people I'm emotionally. You are part of a closed group. People should be able to enter and leave a group, unlimited group size. Private groups require invitation. Public groups let people come and go as they wish, like a chatroom.||Would like to use a Google+ Circle-style sharing system, in which I can select who I share to. It's not so important that it's a defined group of people.|
Would share this with my closer friend groups only.
|UI||Too much white space. Too much for one user's RBT to cover the whole screen. Photo next to user name. Cover photo band to separate users. Flexible character counts on the RBT unit.|
|Name||Take "thorn" out and just call it "rosebud". Thorn has bad connotations. If it had a good logo I would use it as a guy, it has to look sharp - I'm seeing simple R in a red circle, something like Pinterest, or a white stencil rose in a red circle. It musn't look like a flower! "Highlight" would be a good name, but "Rosebud" is a good metaphor, because you want something good to bloom. Other ideas - "look forward".|
|Other||Push notification - update your RBT for the AEPhi meeting this week. AEPhi active members once a week, AEPhi alumni once a month. Randomly timed push notifications might be interesting. Based on how often the group wants to stay in touch.||Random number days of updating cycle||Would like something interactive where other people's RBT is matched with mine, I should be able to see this on my profile, how I'm coping mentally.|
