Registration Deadline: December 8 Submission Deadline: December 15Kaiser Permanente Health Care Career ScholarshipLocalGraduating high school seniors who: have a minimum GPA of 2.5 (weighted), are planning to pursue and education and career in an approved human health care field, attend an eligible high school (McNary is eligible), and plan to enroll in the fall at a U.S. accredited college or university as a full-time, degree or certificate-seeking first-year student. Additional consideration is given to applicatnts who are first-generation college-bound students, demonstrate financial need, speak Engilsh plus a second language fluently, are members of underrepresented and/or diverse populations.Those engaged in organized health;wellness activities at school or in school-based health center activities and volunteer in a public health setting.

Must be enrolled in a four-year college, two year college or vocational school within one calender year of award selection.

February 4Thompson- Patch Scholarship FundLocalScholarships to ethnic minority graduating high school students from Salem Keizer School District and Chemawa Indian School. Scholarships are intended to help those students who would otherwise struggle to obtain education and training beyond high school. Awards are intended to provide a boost to students who have a desire and shown an ability to face and overcome difficult life challenges, supported their community, and have a desire to give back to their community in the future. Scholarship committee is interested in student's extracurricular activities and future academic and career goals. Grade point average will be considered but is NOT a major factor in our decision. February 4Keizer Rotary - Pat Valentino Memorial ScholarshipLocalTwo $1,000 scholarships given to one male and one female senior at McNary. The applicants must be an outstanding student, planning on attending a two or four year college and has a minimum of 3.5 GPA. Applicants will be selected based on their financial need, an interview, leadership and community involvment, and GPA. Applications are attached or available in the College and Career Center.

February 22West Salem Rotary Club Local Applicants must live in West Salem (97304). Applicants cannot be a child of a Rotarian. Applications to be mailed in by February 22nd. Interview date to be announced.

March 1WOU - McNary Mentor ASPIRE ScholarshipLocal$500 Scholarship to WOU based on Nomination from ASPIRE Coordinator. Student must complete the WOU General Scholarship application. Once that is done, the student can then search for the 'Aspire Scholarship' within Academic Works and complete the questions for that...there is a question where the student has to submit references (which is the Aspire Coordinator), and that is where they'd enter their high school's Aspire Coordinator's name and email.

March 16Latino Recognition Scholarship - McNary StudentLocal Bilingual retired educators and community leaders offer this Latino Recognition Scholarship to a Latino/Hispanic graduating McNary Senior who is a current or former bilingual, migrant and/or ESL student. Student is required to write a 200 word or less personal description of yourself and your personal plans after high school. Scholarship application is available in the College and Career Center.

March 31Edwin C. Goodenough ScholarshipLocalAny senior or graduating student from any public or private high school located in School District 24J. Four year scholarship amounting to approximately $1,000 to $2,000 per each academic year. Criteria for selection shall be based on financial need and academic excellence. If, upon completion of four years of undergraduted work, a recipient elects to enroll in law school, an additional award may be made for the succeeding three years. See Mrs. Muir in College and Career for applications.

March 31Sheila Goodman Memorial ScholarshipLocalThe Keizer Police Association is offering a scholarship for any graduating senior of McNary High School's class. GPA 3.25 or higher. Essay Required. The scholarship is a onetime scholarship for the recipient in the amount of $1000.

Any McNary High School senior who plans to further his or her education by attending a two or four year college, with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Applicants will be selected based on finanical need, an interview, current involvement in community activities, and GPA. Applications are attached or available in the College and Career Center.

April 20Sodexo LocalAny Graduating student. Preference will be given to those applicants who show interest in Culinary, the hospitality field or have been enrolled in culinary/hospitality classes during their high school education. Scholarship is $1000. Students should complete and turn this application in to the College and Career Center.

April 25Lucille Middleton ScholarshipLocal$500 one time non-renewable award. It is open to any McNary High School graduating senior who wish to pursue a career in teaching. Former Gubser students will have priority. Students must be involved in community service, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and plan to attend a 4 year college after high school. Financial need is not a requirement. Former Gubser students will have priority.

April 28Lois J. Erickson Scholarship FundLocalAny graduating McNary Senior whose parent is employed in the field of police, fire, or EMT, including support staff. OR whose parent or legal guardian is a Salem/Keizerteacher who has taught at McNary or a McNary feeder school for a minimum of five years. This senior must have plans to further his/her education by attending any accredited institution of higher education, including trade or business schools, tow year community colleges, four year colleges leading to a bachelor's degree and graduate or professional schools.

May 3Larry K. Sharpf ScholarshipLocalThe Larry K. Sharpf Educational Scholarship Foundation is offering scholarships to high school seniors in the amount of $20,000 per year for tuition, room, and board for a 4 year college. There will be approximately 8 to 12 scholarships awarded. Also offering scholarships for two year programs and trade schools. All schools must be in Oregon. Must be a resident of Marion, Linn, Lane, or Benton County. Requirements: Cummulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, annual household income level of $50,000 or less, U.S. citizen, maintain full time student status, must pass a background check, Scholarships ARE RENEWABLE! Students who are receiving state, institutional, and federal aid that exceeds the direct cost of tuition, room, and board are excluded from the applicant pool. May 20McNary Grad Party - Terri Oldham ScholarshipLocal$500 Cash award given at the conclusion of the McNary Graduation Party. This award recognizes and outstanding student who has made a positive contribution in the McNary High School Community.
