I lecture on topics relating to samplers made in the Mid-Atlantic states. I can supply you with a list of the lectures and am also able to develop others. If you would like the list, please contact me at the email address above. I am the co-author of Delaware Discoveries: Girlhood Embroidery 1750-1850 with Dr. Gloria Seaman Allen, published in 2019 and served as a researcher on the National Endowment for the Arts project to research and document Delaware samplers from 2013 through 2016. In addition to Delaware, I have lectures covering samplers in Maryland and Pennsylvania.
See below for lectures

lianne@1897schoolhousesamplers.ca6138260780
Underpinned by a diverse collection of 320+ antique samplers dated from 1726 to 1978, the UK, U.S.A., Europe and Canada, Lianne self-publishes patterns, writes magazine articles, leads retreats, presents and contributes to podcasts. She also has a diverse collection of antique needlework tools and ephemera and related print resources. She works as a domestic interpreter / historic cook at Upper Canada Village and is committed to increasing exposure and interest in historic needlework.

I am interested in offering my services as a lecturer in general, but am particularly interested in contributing to one of your virtual lectures.

If you visit my website, www.1897schoolhousesamplers.ca, under the In Person drop down menu, you will find the page Events & Presentations. There you will find a listing of my work as a presenter, retreat leader and during in person events.

To hear some of my early work as a guest on podcasts, please see the Media page, from there you can play the podcasts I have contributed to.

Please also see my Instagram and Facebook account for images and written content about my work. Both of which can be found by searching my business name, 1897 Schoolhouse Samplers.

Finally, if your members are interested in a curated list of book titles relating to needlework generally, and samplers more specifically, they can find a through list under the Resources tab and on the On the Bookshelf page.

Thank you for considering my proposal,
Lianne van Leyen

I am a self-taught cross stitcher, so do not believe I would meet the criteria to teach for the EGA.
