Director UpdatesSusan informed the members that Golden Brook had just under 100 students get instruments. The high school orchestra now has over 30 kids enrolled. During the Blackout game, no tents willl be allowed. The area will be roped off and there will be food trucks in front of where everyone marches through. A new location for the instruments needs to be found, after the halftime show. Possibly using tarps and cones. The faculty introduced themselves and updated the members on their roles and what each department is involved in this year. Seniors will be choosing and directing plays, overseen by musical faculty, in teams. One team will go to the theater festival and the teachers are hoping the board will be able to help. The band/orchestra will have Jazz and Classical all state. Blake has 12 students enrolled in a Modern Band class. Allison, Blake, and Becky are taking the students to BSO. They requested the board cover $10 per student towards the tickets. Last year the WMAA board $1500 towards the trip. This year the Granite State festival will be January 8th at 6:30, at WHS. Volunteers, help, and possibly ordering food will be needed for this event. The faculty will know by November what assistance they need from the WMAA members for this event. A $5 ticket donation is suggested for the event, and will go to the WMAA. Jane asked the board to vote on the BSO trip Julie approved the motion and Karen second the motion.

There are enough voluteers for the September 13th game. Julie thanked Denise for signing up. All items should be dropped off at the tent, for the tailgate games. Board members should look to see where there are gaps for the tailgate games. Set up for the tailgate game is at 11:30 am. The 8th grade choir is schedule to be at the game October 25th. Janessa and Jane brought up the need for a parent liason for each school. The role is to coordinate between the board and each of the four programs (choir, drama, band, and orchestra).
