A do not reproduce, reuse, or redistribute warning will be included for the zine as a whole so we ask artists not to individually add such watermarks to every piece. |

Please be aware though that we will post snippets of your work to our socials as part of contributor intros and promotion for the zine. And of course, your work will be published and distributed in the digital zine. So be sure that you will be okay with that! |

We just need to get a sense of an applicant’s style, their command of writing, and if provided, whether we think they could follow through with their pitch. |

I noticed the format for the pages seems to be square (2500x2500px) which is a bit unusual in the fanzine world, so I'm curious, is there a reason behind that format in particular? | Since we're a digital only project, there's a lot more freedom to experiment with unusual dimensions so that's the big bulk of the reason! The less "vertical" dimension compared to the more typical A5 zine format also personally evokes a cute storybook asthetic and seems more in line with cookbooks. We realise square might not be the best format for text heavy pages and mobile users so the dimension isn't completely set in stone. As the remaining mods join the team, we'll make the final decision to make sure it's the best dimension for all mediums! |

If by fictional you mean a fictional species like cat with wings or ghost cats, then yes! As long as it's clear that it's based on the domestic cat. However if you're referring to fictional cats like Garfield or Hello Kitty then that's an unfortunate no. Everything should be based on your own original design and not one from an existing IP. |
