Question:Answer:
7
Can I still sign up for Family Flex? Here is a link to the Family Flex information. Students can still make changes but registration now happens by contacting the elementary school or high school office. Family Flex Information
8
In the Hybrid model, will the A group always attend Mon/Tue and the B group always be on Thurs/Friday?No, on 4 day weeks, the district will assign the first two days for A group and the last two days as B group. In most 3 day weeks, the first day will be A, the next day will be B, and the last day will be a distance learning day. We will try to keep the amount of in-person learning equitable between the A/B groups.
9
Bus Tickets or bus changes? This is a significant change. Families will have one pickup/drop off address. Our buses have to be able know who will be riding the bus to plan for social distancing. Because of this, there will be no daily bus ticket changes made by the elementary office. If you have any questions about bus changes, please contact Gayle Stassen or Chip Brandt at (320) 679-6230.
10
Bus route changes?Buses will now have an elementary only route and a high only school route. If we go to the hybrid model, the route will be elementary A, elementary B, high school A, or high school B to allow for 6 feet of social distancing.
11
Is there childcare available?Childcare is available for children of Tier 1 Essential workers only from 6:30-7:45 am (monthly fee based), 2:00-3:15pm (free) and from 3:15-4:15 (monthly fee based). No drop ins. Contact Kris Osterdyk with any questions you may have. kosterdyk@moraschools.org.
12
Are visitors allowed at the schools?Based on recommended safety protocals, no visitors or volunteers are allowed into the building during school hours.
13
What if a student refuses to wear a mask?
Based on the Governor's executive order, masks are required to be worn in the building unless there is a medical reason or an accomodation in a special education IEP. Students will be referred to the building adminstrator to discuss the Family Flex learning model as an alternative.
14
Do face shields meet the requirements for the executive order instead of masks? No, they do not. Face shields can be worn in addition to masks but in most situations, cannot be worn alone.
15
What COVID sanitizing and safety measures will be taken at school?Along with requiring the wearing of a mask and promoting safe handwashing guidelines, we will be providing masks for students and staff. In addition, we will follow safe cleaning practices such as using disinfectants in buildings and buses and cleaning high-touch surfaces throughout the day..

Question:Answer:
18
Is there open house at the elementary? Is there open house for Family Flex students? The elementary open house is from 3:30-7:30pm on Wednesday, Sept 2nd. Families with the last name A-F attend from 3:30-4:30, families with G-L attend from 4:30-5:30, families with M-R attend from 5:30-6:30 and S-Z attends from 6:30-7:30. Family Flex students can attend open house from noon-3 pm at the elementary media center. Contact your child's teacher or the elementary office with conflicts.
19
Will kids get recess?Recess will be planned by homeroom teachers. Students will go out as a class, not as an entire grade level.
20
Will kids be able to use the playground equipment, specifically the slides and swings?Students will be able to use the playground equipment on a rotating basis. We will be washing hands or sanitizing before and after recess. We will have different "playground zones" so classes are separated from one another. Zone examples are the playground, the tennis courts, the greenspace by the Nordic Center, etc.
21
Can students bring their own lunch? What will lunch looks like?Students can bring their own lunch if they choose. Lunch is a full ½ hour this year. Lunch will have two locations. K, 2, 4, and 6 will be in the commons area as normal. Spaced out as much as possible. 1st, 3rd, and 5th will be in the south gym (court 5).
22
Will students still get specialists?Yes, with some changes. Specialists will come in on a rotating basis for 20-25 minutes daily. In most situations, specialists will go to the classroom or take them outside. Mr. Balmer has been moved to help with 6th grade so the computer lab will not be on the specialist schedule.
23
What are key changes in the schedule? Our doors will not open until 7:45. At that time, students can go right to the classrooms (they may grab breakfast in the commons and bring it to their classroom to eat). We will dismiss car riders and walkers at 1:53. Buses depart at 2:00.

29
Will my child get a device? Will I need to pay a fee or sign a form?We believe each child will be able to get a device if we have to go to the Hybrid or Distance Learning models. Grades that paid fees prior, will continue to pay the fee. This is for grades 6-12th. The younger grades will not need to pay the fee but will still need to sign the user agreement form that states they will take care of the device.
