Mr. SkaarSocial Studies: Today we learned about village life in Medieval Times. The students read about a village in Kids Discover before downloading a reading on town life. No homework.

Comm Skills: Today we learned about Connotation vs Denotation. How different words can have a similar meaning but create different emotions in the reader. Make sure you turn the assignment in to eBackpack.

Tech Lit Brewers: Today we started sharing what we have made in class.
Social Studies: Today we started reading about castles. The students completed two reading with Mr. Skaar before starting to research different castles of Europe. Tomorrow we will be picking a castle that we want to learn more about.

Comm Skills: Today we used our knowledge of connotation and denotation. The students completed either 6.T.1 or 6.T.2 in IXL. We then looked at author word choice in a novel. The students tried different words in a sentence to see if it changed the mood or feeling. Make sure you finish your paragraph explaining to Mr. Skaar author word choice.

Ms. Galligan-AmundsonToday students played Wordical to work on spelling and vocabulary development as well as collaboration. Then students worked on Reading Plus. Students will be taking the Insight Assessment tomorrow.Students did their Insight Assessment and started conferencing with me about their results. Students finshed the Insight Assessment, conferenced with Ms. Galligan, worked on Reading Plus, and followed a recipe to celebrate the ending of our classes together.Students worked on Reading Plus as Ms. Galligan conferenced with students about their Insight Assessment and work in class.
