Use this sheet to estimate ages based on birth and census years.
26
Cells for census years before birth and after death will automagically turn gray.
If you don't know a death year, just enter 9999 to get all census ages after birth.
27
If you change the first Census year (only one in a green cell) the rest will all calculate in increments Defined by the "Census Year Increment" cell at the top. Normally I'd leave it as 10, but, for example if you want to include ages in years ending in 5 where there was a NY State census, just change the increment to 5.
28
I have protected all of the NON-GREEN Cells so that people can't mistakenly change the formulas, header, and columns. Protected cells may have a crosshatch background when you view the sheet - that makes it hard to see: you can click on the View menu at the top of the page, then de-select "Protected Ranges" to get rid of the crosshatch. Those cells will still be protected, but you can take a nicer screenshot if that is your favorite method of capture.
