This spreadsheet outlines specific tasks that will help KAS achieve the goals outlined in the 2023-2026 Strategic Plan. Tasks should be added or edited, as needed. Each task should be assigned to a committee, staff member, or other responsible party. The Vice President of the Board of Directors will seek to report on progress every six months.

Contribute to improving science education through supporting K-12 science teachers in public schools, pre-service science teachers in their coursework, and recruiting new science educators to the field.Operational Goal 3A. Adopt a pathways model for recruiting educators to the profession.Review peer models, including the Kentucky Science Center-Bellarmine School of Education partnership Education & Engagement Committee?(UTeach model ) Look at SKY Teach at WKU; MSU Teach grants a teaching certificate WITH a BS in a science field . Students get into the classroom in first year. BUT UTeach model is very rigid - (as implemented at WKU, Morehead) - has not shifted in 15 years. KAS Opportunity: Welcome them into KAS as members? many of those ugrads don't do research. KAS Science Education Section-- what if enrolled students (teachers -in-training) could give their presentations at KAS?
