1. Make a copy of this spreadsheet (If you haven't already done so) and work on the copy, otherwise you won't be able to edit anything. For more details about this script, see the original blog post in C2:http://www.littlebluemonkey.com/blog/online-scrum-tools-part-4-trello-backup
3
2. Log into Trello in the same browser you're viewing this spreadsheet inhttps://trello.com/
4
3. Enter your Trello App Key in cell B4. Tip: Visit URL in cell C4 and you'll find your Trello App Key in the "Key" fieldhttps://trello.com/1/appKey/generate
5
4. Enter you trello token in cell B5. Tip: Visit URL in C5, click "Allow", and then copy the token that is displayed
https://trello.com/1/authorize?key=&name=Trello+Upload+Spreadsheet&expiration=never&response_type=token&scope=read,write
6
5. If you are using this as a backup for Scrum Backlogs, put a Y in B6
7
6. If you want to backup archived cards/lists put a Y in B7
8
7. If you want to store the raw data in the Dump Sheet, then enter Y in B8 (Note: Not recommended!)
9
8. If you want to backup only certain lists, then enter a comma seperated list of list names in B9. You can enter just the first few characters of the name if you wish (e.g. entering "Do" will backup "Doing" and "Done", but not "To Be Done")
10
9. You can enter an expression to filter particular cards. You enter the column name and then either = or != followed by the value (You do not need quotes around the value). You can string these together with && to filter multiple columns - e.g. to find cards where there are entries in the questions column, and have 3 story points, you would enter the following in B10:

questions != && story points = 3

11
10. To exclude checked checklist items, enter a Y in B11.
12
11. Select "Backup boards" from the Trello menu in this spreadsheet. This will (optionally) dump the raw JSON output in the Dump worksheet, and then extract certain fields into new worksheets representing each board. NOTE: You may get a request to authorise the App Script - just click Ok, and then then reselect "Backup boards" from the trello menu and it should run the next time.
13
12. To schedule backups, select Tools-> Script Editor. In the new script window that opens, select Resources->current scripts triggers, and add a new trigger to call method scheduledBackup() at your chosen frequency.
14
13. To generate story cards, choose either "Create cards" (for all cards on the current worksheet), or "Create cards from selected rows" (For selected rows on the current worksheet) from the Story Cards menu, and these will be created on the Generate Cards sheet
15
14. To email the spreadsheet, but only when it contains data, then uncomment (ie. Remove // from the start) the code in the script (Go Tools->Script Editor) that starts with "//MailApp.sendEmail(" and change the recipients email addresses, subject, and body to be what you want.
16
