We went through local cataloging practices and information from a SEO Webinar on Finding Matching Records. This webinar they viewed ahead of the workshops. They were also given a tutorial on finding matching records from the Worldcat online catalog for items not on the system and filing out the updated Cataloging Routing Slips. They also worked on filling out cataloging work forms with MARC fields to be used by me to add original records to OCLC and Symphony.Yes

He went through the various items that are cataloged on Symphony, such as books, audiobooks, and video recordings. He went through what needs to match and what didn't necessarily need to match for each category. He also talked about searching methods. Title keyword was deemed the best search in cataloging items; and general keyword was best for items with short titles where an author would need to be added. He said that the ISBN should never be the first search but to use title keyword instead.Yes
