SRHS Girls in STEM: Friday Night Workshop
Join us at the first ever SRHS Girls in STEM Friday Night Workshop on March 13, from 4:00pm - 6:00pm! This is an event for girls grades 9-12 who are interested in or plan to pursue a career in a STEM field. Students will be divided into two groups prior to the event and will have the chance to rotate between two different labs run by the student committee and UCSD students. For this workshop, the labs will have a focus on structural, mechanical, & electrical engineering. Our special guest, Professor Lelli Van Den Einde - a structural engineering professor at the UCSD - will be there to help with the labs and speak about her experience as a woman in STEM at the end of the event. As most of know, there have been devastating fires in Australia since September and close to a billion animals have died from the devastation.
