I have been involved in the information science discipline in one way and another for over a decade. I have published in JASIST and Journal of Documentation, (collaborative information seeking and retrieval, data work) and participated in ASIST conferences. Current externally-funded research projects in data sharing (Wellcome Trust) and Accountability and Ethics (EPSRC) have given my interest in information processing an additional impetus. My research and teaching interests in information governance is particularly something that I would like to bring to the role.

I’m fascinated by information, and particularly information literacy and information behaviour, and look forward to working with other information scientists. Having not been involved in professional committees for a couple of years, I'd like to contribute again! Previous involvements include Chair of the Institute of Information Scientists Marketing Committee and its Scottish Branch; and chair ASIS&T European Chapter 199-2000. I was an elected member of IFLA’s Standing committee on Marketing & Management 2001- 9 and its Information Literacy committee 2009-2017. 2016-19 I was co-chair of UNESCO’s GAPMIL European Chapter. I am a recipient of the Jason Farradane award for services to information science.
