Your Responsibilities:
1) If you find that you can not serve on an assigned day, switch times with another skipper and inform the race captain at RaceCaptain@GrapevineSailing.org or RaceAssistant@Grape vineSailing.org. We will update this list to reflect any changes.
2) Recruit additional people (especially your crew) to help. A minimum of 3 (4 is better) people are needed on the signal boat and 2 people on the chase boat.
3) If you have not been checked out on one of the chase boats please contact the GSC Engineer (chiefengineer@grapevinesailing.org) to arrange for a check-out drive ahead of time.
4) Report for committee duty at least 2 hours before the scheduled First Gun so that you are on the water setting up the race course 1 hour before the First Gun.
5) Review the Race Committee Booklet (in the race committee attache case and on-line) on how to run the race committee.
6) Turn in the check sheet: a) boats checked in before the start, b) leg distances for each course, c) course (selected from the course sheet) used for each fleet, d) start time for each fleet, e) finish time for each boat. Leave this under the keyboard for the club office computer.
7) Return all of the race equipment
8) Make yourself available to conduct a PROTEST HEARING if that should be necessary. If you can not remain for a protest hearing then recruit another skipper to serve in your place. Protesters must notify the race committee that they intend to file a protest on the water before they leave the race area, so you will know when to expect a protest. See the Protest Committee Booklet for further rules and instructions on how to conduct a protest hearing.
