I first started my professional career as a community organizer working on advocacy and policy matters from a grassroots level related to labor, immigration, and poverty. I've also worked as a nonprofit professional serving low-income and immigrant communities developing economic & workforce development programs for upward mobility. In my current MPP program, I've focused my time on developing my program evaluation skills and broadening my interests into energy and health policy.

Have been doing research in cell & tissue (cancer and aging) engineering for 2 years. Have a strong interest in bench-to-bedside transition, as well as developing solutions for disease/aging-related problems especially for the underrepresented groups.
a combination of laboratory research and how to push research into a real life setting. Would especially like to know how could scientists make a difference in the lives of common people, especially people with limited access and exposure to scientific knowledge and medical resources. Also interested in learning how scientists and non-scientists could collaborate to promote science policy locally and nationally, and affect government decisions.
Smart, hardworking people with similar interest. I am a very science-heavy person, so depending on group size, I would like a group with one or two more science-heavy people, but also people more knowledgeable in other fields (public health, policy, etc)

4th year PhD student in Bioengineering, BS in BME from Wisconsin-Madison, with research interests and experience in cell and tissue engineering & regenerative medicine. My current work explores cell-cell communication within the adult neural stem cell niche. Experience includes volunteering & working in low income urban settings; taught high school science prior to starting grad school through Teach For America in Houston, TX.
Outside of my academic research in tissue engineering & regenerative medicine, I have deep interests in STEM education & policy, outreach, and effective science communication. In general, I am passionate about engaging and connecting a broader public to science and scientific research progress, arising from the core belief that the positive work we do in a classroom and laboratory should extend beyond the walls of our campus:
I'm interested in finding others with expertise and experience outside of my domain and background, particularly those who have worked within public policy and/or social science.

I will be a second year PhD student in Nuclear Engineering, studying computational simulation of neutron populations as well as machine-learning applications to nuclear engineering problems. My undergraduate degree is in Physics with a concentration in renewable energy.
Aside from environmentalism and clean-energy, I'm interested in the practice of industrially-disruptive innovation. Specifically, I want to use data science to tackle and solve problems in new ways. Though my focus area is nuclear, the data science principles are intrinsically interdisciplinary and transferable, so I'm hoping to pick up and/or share ideas wherever possible.
Really anyone enthusiastic and with a variety of backgrounds (I doubt that will be too hard, since I don't see many other NucE's). I think if our team is creative, interdisciplinary and motivated we can play to strengths and be effective. If I really had to choose an ideal team right now, I'd request a policy expert, an environmental scientist, and a design engineer.

Realistically, looking for anyone who is excited to work collaboratively as we learn about all areas required for successful implementation of the project! I'm a bioengineering undergrad (3rd year), focusing on biomaterials and biomechanics, although I've been dabbling in other topics as well. This previous summer I worked with a custom orthotics company and a research lab identifying needs and problems with moving 3D technologies into the orthotics space, running some preliminary feasibility tests, and mapping out next steps. This summer I'll be working in Quality Assurance in Abbott's diagnostic division, so still in the process of figuring out what I'd like to specialize in.
I'm really interested in increasing the quality and accessibility of healthcare, which was why I ultimately decided on majoring in bioengineering. Growing up seeing my quadriplegic grandmother's heath struggles was really impactful and finding ways to continue improving the options available to people is really important to me.
More generally, I'm particularly drawn to problems with mechanical challenges or related to process improvement.
Education - particularly about STEM topics or public health - and access to opportunities are other challenges that I'm really passionate about.
Motivated & friendly individuals who hopefully have different backgrounds, perspectives, and skills than I have. I'm excited about working with a diverse team to tackle a tough problem!

Incoming M.eng student in Bioengineering. Internship experience is mostly cancer research related ( looking for minimally invasive options for early detection particularly focusing on finding biomarkers). Pretty good with data analysis and have done research about bio materials and biosensors.
Generating border free healthcare options so that the product could reach the people who need it the most is what am I planning to achieve through this capstone experience. Technology transfer, Point of care devices , digital healthcare and healthcare security challenges are the fields I am most interested in.
People who know computer programming languages. Also I believe that diversity is what converts an idea into a practical working model and hence I would like to be a part of a team with different backgrounds like in computer and electrical engineering to finally be able to make an impactful device.

Currently, a graduate student at the Goldman School of Public Policy (MPA '18). I'm a former city councilmember for the City of Stockton, California, and incoming CEO of the Community Foundation of San Joaquin. I believe I could offer a number of meaningful perspectives to the class and add value to the work of the group. I'm particularly interested in learning more about how a multidisciplinary approach to applying technology/innovation to providing local government services can help improve the quality of life of residents living in disadvantaged areas
local government policy and workforce development (particularly around healthcare).
I'm looking for a group of creative, easy-going, and passionate individuals who hope to impact their communities through the melding of technology, public policy, and creativity.

I have a master's degree (in Bioinformatics) from France's leading university in science. During the program I did 2 internships in start ups. The first one was in a taiwanese startup from whom a develop a website. The other one in TwistBioscience, a biotech company of San Francisco. I also cofounded "Cookoo" an app designed for students to share meals on their campus. All these experiences gave me a large skillset : thanks to my masters I have a pretty good knowledge of the biologic processes but I can also develop informatic tools or web apps. With my experience with Cookoo I also learned a lot about how to work in an horizontal team (ie. no boss) and how to go from an abstract idea to a concrete project.

Integrative Bio, NST Physiology and Metabolsim
B.S./B.A.I want to join or form a team
I'm UC Berkeley transfer student majoring in Integrative Biology and Physiology/Metabolism. I am currently a senior and I'm starting to apply to grad programs in bioengineering.
I'm currently in two labs. The first NST lab that focuses on complex metabolic disorders like diabetes emphasizing epigenetic factors, drug responses and pathophysiology (Kang Lab). The second lab is an infectious disease lab that uses modeling and the ecology/evolution to understand host resistance, spatial structure, coevolutionary feedback loops cycles and other ID dynamics.
I am also a health worker at Foothill and I volunteer at the Woman Cancer Resource Center.
I'm always looking to learn and understand something new and I have a range of interests.
