Creating sculpture by upcycling waste materials
Upcycling, Waste Reduction, DesignJane Gillings creates beautiful objects out of waste materials.
The artwork made in these workshops will utilise discarded plastic. We will use all forms of plastic, with the possibility of incorporating more organic recyclables like cork and light metal. With an emphasis on the exploration of tools and construction techniques, these workshops will be as much about fabrication skills as artwork concept.
Whatever object/artwork you decide to make you will be challenged to consider design and fabrication as plastic can be an unforgiving material.
All tools and materials are provided but it would be great if you could collect some of your own plastic waste, no previous experience in design or sculpture required.
