|Frequent CTA / Occasional Metra||Logged in to an existing account||Yes||Yes||Purchasing the Metra tickets was very easy - I only purchased one-way tickets so far using the app, but it seemed very straightforward in choosing which stops and identifying the ticket type I wanted. The conductor that checked my mobile ticket on UP-N was educated on the system and he had no trouble accepting the ticket; that was my only concern about using the Ventra app to buy a Metra ticket.||Review account history||Add Transit Value||Buy Metra Tickets||Looked up Ventra Value||Other||I also tried removing an unneeded Ventra card on my account, though that feature is not implemented yet.||I strongly believe that being able to purchase Metra tickets within the app will lead to me riding Metra more often. I rarely carry cash, and since most of the outlying stations are unmanned I would be required to pay cash on the train. One of the two Metra tickets I bought through the app so far was an unplanned trip - I bought the ticket about 5 minutes before the train arrived at the station.||4 - Appealing||I have two Ventra cards registered to my account, and there are two semicircles that indicate two cards below the card name. This is a problematic design for an iPhone because shaded dots usually indicate something that a user can swipe on the screen, but in the Ventra app the user is expected to tap on the arrow on the far right to switch cards. I know the correct way to switch between them and I'm still doing it wrong.||4 - Easy||I hate having to type in my password multiple times to do different tasks within the app. If this is a security requirement, then a PIN alternate or Touch ID on the iPhone would be much better. Also, I have noticed that the app will log me out of my account for seemingly no reason, and I'll need to go into my account settings to reauthenticate.||7/12/2015 18:25:30

|Metra rider88||Registered a Ventra Card||Yes||No||It was very simple. I liked this feature the most Bc sometimes I do forget to add value and then I'm at the cta bus or train and realized oh I forgot to given self alil extra time to add||Review account history||Add Transit Value||Used Trip Tools||Looked up Ventra Value||Looked up ride history's||I enjoyed it it was very simple helpful and I would like too see this out there if something happens to my card I know I can replace it.||4 - Appealing||I like it a lot it was simple! It reflected the cards desighn||5 - Very Easy||Maybe add a scan ur card thing. When ur putting ur ventra card to register||7/12/2015 19:52:34
|Gr8fl4CTA||Logged in to an existing account||No||No||I haven't made a purchase because I have a monthly pass. I do not like that you can only add $5 to the card. There should be an option to either fill out the amount-especially since most rides are $2.25 or $2.50. people shouldn't be forced to put $5 on their card if they don't need all of that.||Review account history||Used Trip Tools||Looked up Ventra Value||I don't like that the app doesn't give you the fastest route to get somewhere||5 - Very appealing||Overall, I like the look and ease of using the website. i think that I would make the categories of "Transit value", "CTA & Pace passes" and "Metra Mobile Tickets" more bold or make the grey heading a little darker. The delineation between the categories needs to be clearer.||5 - Very Easy||Maybe offer a Spanish option- to translate for bilingual speakers. Also, I'm not sure if this is available for Android phones but you should make sure that it is compatible with this app.||7/12/2015 20:39:07
|Brown line rider / occasional UP-N Metra rider||Logged in to an existing account||No||Yes||There was a little trouble with the Metra ticket purchase: my original Ventra password was too short. I attempted to change my password in the app, but was not successful. (Unbeknownst to me at the time, there are further restrictions on passwords beyond their minimum eight-character length.) I then logged into the website and changed my password there, where the other password requirements (a numeral, a special character, etc) were made explicit. Once that was done, I was able to buy a Metra ticket through the app. My next use of the app will be applying my federal mass transit employee stipend to my Ventra account later this month.||Review account history||Buy Metra Tickets||Used Trip Tools||Overall pretty useful. Changing the password (and setting forth the password requirements) could be a little more clear-cut.||3 - Neutral||It's certainly serviceable, but it does not yet have the polish of peer apps, such as Uber or Spotify.||4 - Easy||I feel navigation isn't always consistent. Sometimes I can use my phone's back button, other times I have to use an in-app menu button.||7/12/2015 22:32:23
|Metra commuter||Logged in to an existing account||No||Yes||Purchasing it was fine. Quick and easy. I ran into a bit of trouble using it bc apparently not everyone was up on the fact that passes were being used, however it worked out anyway.||Buy Metra Tickets||Used Trip Tools||Looked up Ventra Value||Overall it's pretty nice. I think it will definitely make commuting a lot easier. Especially with metra. If you're late and aren't able to buy a ticket in the station, you can always buy it in the app and avoid the insane fees. I like it a lot.||4 - Appealing||Honestly it's aesthically fine. I don't see any problems with is visually.||4 - Easy||It's pretty simple and straightforward. The only thing that confused me really was the qr code on the ticket screen. What is that there for?||7/12/2015 23:58:15
|Daily CTA Rider (MW)||Logged in to an existing account||No||No||Have not made a purchase but hope to, tomorrow.||Review account history||Used Trip Tools||Looked up Ventra Value||It works. The FAQ isn't really an FAQ. Will I be able to use mapping or search for stops. right now trip tools only lists routes and lines--doesn't tell me where I am and what's close.||3 - Neutral||I like it. It's functional. It's not eye candy but then, it doesn't have to be.||4 - Easy||Include mapping.||7/13/2015 0:18:41
|CTA Rider||Logged in to an existing account||Yes||No||There were no problems. I added value to my Ventra using a credit card, just as I do when using the website. It was very simple.||Review account history||Add Transit Value||Used Trip Tools||It's a good, reliable app. One thing I noticed is that when you add value it appears instantly, versus the online site, where it usually doesn't update until you log off and log back in again, so that's a plus. I also like that Bus Tracker is built into the app, which saves time from having to search it on the internet.||5 - Very appealing||It's recognizable with the light blue of the website & it has a clean, streamlined interface which makes it easy to use.||5 - Very Easy||It's pretty simple to use @ the moment so there's nothing really that I can think of, that could make it any simpler. It's pretty straightforward.||7/13/2015 8:32:33
|Mischievous Metra maverick||Logged in to an existing account||No||No||Have not--still waiting on function to upload existing Metra month pass into app. I purchase monthly Metra passes through a Conexis pre-tax commuter benefit program||Review account history||Used Trip Tools||Looked up Ventra Value||It's nice. Generally very user friendly and clean aesthetic. Already filed bug reports for very minor formatting issues||4 - Appealing||Clean formatting and intuitive design. On the left list of pages, not sure why there is a "Buy Metra Tickets" and a "My Ventra Tickets" rather than maintaining consistency with the single "My Ventra Cards" page with sub links for purchase. On the other hand, the + button to buy Ventra tickets is a bit subtle and may be missed by some users. Color scheme is nice.||4 - Easy||May be nice to have a tab on system messages including outages and things like that.||7/13/2015 8:45:20
|Daily CTA Rider||Logged in to an existing account||No||No||I have not made a purchase yet.||Used Trip Tools||Looked up Ventra Value||So far the really like the app! I like that you can purchase both CTA and Metra tickets and that schedules for CTA, Metra and Pace are all available in one place. In the past I've had separate apps for CTA train vs bus vs metra. I also like that you can "heart" the stops you use frequently so you can easily pull up that list in the future. I have had some issues with the transit history feature not working and getting a "connectivity lost" message when trying to search for a train stop. It would also be nice to have a map feature within the app. i didn't see that - only lists of nearby stops instead of a map to show you where those stops are.||5 - Very appealing||I like the color choices and the font and format of the design makes it really easy to read.||5 - Very Easy||Add in a map feature.||7/13/2015 11:40:14
|Frequent CTA Rider||Created a new account||No||No||I was trying to figure out how to add money to my account and it wouldn't let me so it was not very successful. I'm still trying to figure it out. I added and registered my card and it said it was already registered but I couldn't find it. It would only allow me to purchase a new card.||Review account history||Used Trip Tools||Looked up Ventra Value||It's been okay so far just trying to figure out how to use certain features.||5 - Very appealing||I like the bright colors its very sensual and calming.||3 - Neutral (not easy, not difficult)||Add the add transit option and display the card at the top so its much easier to add value.||7/13/2015 11:40:34
|ChgoKC||Logged in to an existing account||No||No||I tried to add value to the account, but it asked for my Ventra password, which I entered (it's 4 digits), and it said the password had to be 8 digits. I tried my password for my bank account, but that was "incorrect". So not sure what password it's looking for.||Review account history||Add Transit Value||Used Trip Tools||Looked up Ventra Value||not always easy to navigate. you couldn't hit a "back" key, or the back on the phone. Had to go completely out to the app, and then re-log in. Now the little bars at the top left are visible to get to the main menu, but it wasn't always visible.||4 - Appealing||I like the design of the app.||3 - Neutral (not easy, not difficult)||works pretty well! adding $$ was my only issue.||7/13/2015 11:45:44
|CTA/Metra Commuter/Evil Genius||Logged in to an existing account||No||Yes||Purchasing in general is easy. Multiple times, I've purchased a ticket while walking to the train. I love the ability to pay with my Ventra auto-reloading balance.||Review account history||Buy Metra Tickets||Used Trip Tools||Looked up Ventra Value||Other||Activate/Use metra tickets - single ride and weekend, two different lines||I love it. The only thing I'd like to see if NFC CTA use like you can do with Google Wallet, but I'm sure there are technical limitations there.||4 - Appealing||It's simple, which I really like. I think it could fit in more with the Material Design Craze to make it more consistent with the rest of my OS, but the layout is great. The font is a little too rounded for my taste, but that's also an issue I have with Droid Sans.||5 - Very Easy||Nothing immediately comes to mind.||7/13/2015 14:42:58
|Geek sheek||Logged in to an existing account||No||No||Didn't make a purchase yet||Review account history||Used Trip Tools||Looked up Ventra Value||Other||Removed old cards and duplicate billing.... Cool||Obviously it's in beta but the log in screen is too slow when inputing password... Make visible an option. I like the transit schedule hope its real time update..... Would like to have the option of transferring funds from one card to the other.||3 - Neutral||A better GUI. When you press or depress should be an increase in size of icon to let you know plus a vibration..... More stand out colors for more frequent and important options. A personalized user interface to get to the frequent items ....||3 - Neutral (not easy, not difficult)||Allow using the app to verify funds with the drivers or use to scan in the event of emergency loss of card and need to travel expeditiously. Use a quick tab to purchase other things online with the debit aspect of the card||7/13/2015 15:08:29
|Cta my way||Registered a Ventra Card||Yes||No||Did not purchase metra||Review account history||Looked up Ventra Value||Had to change password check balance||It was not as user friendly as I had hoped. Can I use my phone as the ventra card instead of the actual card, like at Starbucks?||3 - Neutral||It was okay- nice color simple||4 - Easy||It asked for the nickname of card and I had no idea what thAt was||7/13/2015 15:13:09
|CTA Savant||Logged in to an existing account||No||No||N/A||Review account history||Used Trip Tools||The app was not difficult to use.||3 - Neutral||The colors are pleasant and seem to match the existing Ventra brand. The "My Ventra Cards" section felt somewhat cluttered with sections for different types of cards. I would add a single button to Add a card, then that can bring up a new page where you select CTA, Pace, Metra and the type of pass (autoload, one-time, time interval, etc). Many riders, including myself, likely only have one card and would therefore benefit from a more minimalist card management interface.||4 - Easy||I would not use this app in my daily commute until it was capable of serving as a mobile card, allowing me to tap my phone against the Ventra card reader to board trains and busses. As a commuter that has payroll deductions for their transit benefits, I never have a need to add more funds to my card and never manage more than one. The balance checking and transaction history functionality alone do not merit using the app. Some additional improvements I would suggest would be to reformat the Trip Tools so that Stops that you have already marked as favorite automatically appear on the main Trip Tools Page. This would save the user an extra click as once you have added your favorite stops, you probably won't use the search functionality as often. It would also be nice if the Trip Tools also provided the arrival time. It currently provides ETA, which is helpful enough but I find that both are beneficial to keep track of arriving trains/busses.||7/13/2015 20:01:01
|CTA rider AC||Logged in to an existing account||Yes||No||It went seamlessly. The system remembered my credit card info from my earlier purchases and could not really have to make any effort to add value.||Add Transit Value||Used Trip Tools||Looked up Ventra Value||It seems a bit slow to load but otherwise it works fine.||4 - Appealing||I would change the color of cursor from white to black or something dark. It is really annoying that I can't see where the cursor is.||4 - Easy||Some icons are not very telling. I had to click on them to figure out what they are for.||7/13/2015 21:16:21
|Systems engineer CTA rider||Logged in to an existing account||Yes||No||I added a 30 day pass to an existing transit account and it went very smoothly. I was surprised that it didn't ask me for the CVV2 of the card like the website does. I'm also REALLY, REALLY impressed with how split tenders for payments were implemented. It's really intuitive and I really like that feature.||Review account history||Add CTA Passes||Used Trip Tools||Everything seems to work very well. I do have some feedback with the trip tools - specifically, that unlike other things that use the tracker API, when I look up a train stop, it only shows me one line. Today, I looked up Purple -> Quincy. I like how other trackers show me the brown as well, so I can decide if that'll be faster. Also, the back button doesn't work when you delve into the trip tools.||4 - Appealing||I have four cards linked to my account, and I like that I can scroll through them using the arrow keys. However, I initially expected to be able to swipe through them (left and right), like in other material apps. Other than that, I like the color scheme and the branding. It all looks nice.||5 - Very Easy||I really like that you can search by stop ID for buses - but it helps that I've used the Bus Tracker API myself and know what a stop ID is. It might help to add an explanation popup, since that's such a nice feature (to go directly to a stop).||7/13/2015 22:53:11
|Occasional CTA rider TH||Logged in to an existing account||Yes||No||I turned off the auto-loader and added $5 to my account. Overall, the process was pretty smooth and I could easily see that the $5 had been added. The one thing that was confusing was when I checked my Order History under the Account section. The $5 was not immediately visible which made me think something got messed up in the account. I think it just took awhile to register, but it might be nice to have a message re: the expected time it takes to show up so people don't freak out. Also, unlike the Transit History section, the Order History does not scroll to show you more than 3 items. Sorta related, under the "Metra Tickets Order History" link the alert has a "!" at the end which is a little alarmist and made me think if I did have history, it went missing! "You have no order history! Sound the alarms!" Maybe consider rewording this or at least replacing the "!" with a "." :)||Review account history||Add Transit Value||Add Autoload||Used Trip Tools||Overall, it's been a good experience. The app is easy to follow, well-organized and has all of the info I'd expect. With autoload, I don't really have a need to use the app very much but will probably keep it on my phone as long as it's not a battery hog.||4 - Appealing||The alerts in the Trip tools are a very light font and not very easy to read.||4 - Easy||I think my only feedback would be to take another look at the alerts/error messages as those could be more instructive and friendlier in tone. For occasional riders, you may consider adding more trip tool-like features and other transit-related info to encourage usage.||7/14/2015 14:30:07
|MC||Logged in to an existing account||Yes||No||NA||Review account history||Used Trip Tools||Looked up Ventra Value||Overall very useful. Trip history is particularly useful. Metra tickets look like they would be easy to purchase and use but I've not had the need/opportunity in the past week. I loaded my UIC upass to the account which was seamless.||4 - Appealing||Some of the text fields are a little small/touchy to select but that's fairly universal.||5 - Very Easy||Nothing specific. It would be great if it eventually worked with divvy and was able to unlock divvy bikes.||7/15/2015 7:57:49

|Route 66 Book Stalker||Logged in to an existing account||No||No||Have not made a purchase yet||Review account history||Add Autoload||Looked up Ventra Value||- Perhaps not specific to the app, but I was trying to log in with the wrong username, but it was only telling me my password was wrong - I like the integration of Metra, which I can see using in the future - It was sometimes difficult to toggle between my two Ventra cards; I was trying to swipe between them and would tap something else by accident - Toggling off autoload was easy to do - I was able to find the expiration date of my 30-day pass quickly - I don't think the name I gave my second Ventra card previously carried over to the app||4 - Appealing||- Seems like the login fields (username and password) should be bigger/more prominent - I like the toggle on and off for autoload - Seems like the "Add Transit Value," "Add Pass," and "Add Autoload" icons are overyl complicated (with the rectangle, the number and the "+" or arrow) - Transit history displays in a somewhat messy way (columns don't line up which makes it harder to read) -Find a CTA Bus Stop took a long time to load (more than the usual bus tracker)||4 - Easy||(See my notes above) - Make it easier to toggle between Ventra cards - Give option to hide Metra if not a Metra user - Links very close to the bottom of the screen (Remove Card and Transit History) can be difficult to tap (because they're almost off screen) -- give more tap space - Clean up display of transit history||7/15/2015 9:00:37
|Blind Transit rider||Logged in to an existing account||No||No||I couldn't because my active card was not accessible to me.||Used Trip Tools||I am blind and use voice over for this app. I spent a bit of time trying to make my active reduced faire card for people with disabilities. I do not find the app or the website compatible. All the customer service agents are able to see my reduced fare permit/ventra card, but I cannot see my active card. I can only see my closed paratransit Ventra card. It is a closed account because I never activated it. I am trying to correct that issue, but in the meantime I have been using the card that is not visible to me in either the app, or the website. I was able to use the trip tools and found that to be extremely helpful and cover all the transit options I use.||3 - Neutral||There are some buttons or links that do not have text labels, or alt text labels. This is important for accessibility.||2 - Difficult||Make it fully accessible for blind voice over users. This means making sure that text is part of all the activating links, buttons, etc.||7/15/2015 9:04:12
|Riding the 20 every day||Logged in to an existing account||No||No||I have not made a purchase.||Review account history||It's nice to know what my balance is at any time. I noticed that the app notified me 24 hours late that there was an auto-reload to my Ventra card. It not going to be that useful to me until I can use my phone to pay for CTA fares.||4 - Appealing||The 2/3 - 1/3 panes aren't great but they do work. Colors & fonts are fine. Have you had color blind people use the app?||5 - Very Easy||It's not complicated.||7/15/2015 9:07:54
|Occasional CTA Rider BS||Logged in to an existing account||No||Yes||While I did not complete the purchase, I looked at Metra tickets since I occasionally buy the weekend passes for trips in the metro area. I was glad there were options for different types of tickets. I did not complete a purchase, but thought I should give feedback here to the extent I could.||Review account history||Used Trip Tools||Looked up Ventra Value||MyAccount||Initially, I spent about 20 minutes trying to figure out how to pay for a ride using the app. I just assumed that is what it was for, but it seems it is not currently possible. I would likely not use the app until it has that feature. I can see using the app if I needed to add value to a card, was not near a computer and there was a long line at the train station or I was boarding a bus. Rarely an issue for me, but I can see it being used a lot for that. I liked the way you can choose between different Ventra passes on your account. Straight forward, easy and prominent. I thought that some of the syncing took too long and occurred to often (especially when entering MyAccount). Also, there were places where I should have gotten error messages and I think I was just logged out instead. For example, when logged in, why do I need to log in again to see My Account? And when I make a mistake logging in to that section (My Account), it just kicks me out and does not tell me there was a log in error. And not only does it kick me out of My Account, it logs me out of the app totally. The back key on my phone has unexpected results. Sometimes it does nothing, sometimes it takes me out of the app completely.||4 - Appealing||I was impressed from the start, I generally do not think of Ventra/CTA as particularly tech savvy, especially given the roll out. I thought the app looked clean and was functional for what it does. There is a lot of blue, but I think it is ok, the theme is nice looking. I don't understand some of the options on each individual Ventra card page, maybe it is because I do not use them. Why would I buy a Pace or Metra pass from my Ventra card balance page? If that is how it is done, why do we need so many Metra links on the front page. The opening page is clean enough, but MANY users will rarely or never use Metra. Does Metra really need two links on the front page? Trip tools could be more descriptive. Seems like there is no route planning, it is just a train/bus tracker. Trip tools means nothing to me. I would also be curious to see how alerts are conveyed in the app. I see some in the trip tools, but if there was a serious issue (blue line out of commission or something) does that show up on the home page?||4 - Easy||Easy for what it can do, needs a feature to use my phone as transit payment on CTA before I will adopt it. The slider feature can be non responsive at times. I would like to set an option to only see certain cards in the app, I have a bunch and really only use a couple unless company is in town. I can see the names I have given my Ventra cards on my computer, but I did not see a way to edit those or add them to cards that do not have them.||7/15/2015 9:18:00

Autoload process is smooth||Put money on my card||If I want to add another pass. Wasn't clear on if I needed a physical pass. If I buy a physical pass, how do I get it? Confusing||When card balance is low, it will automatically replenish.||Transit or Google Maps||What is this heart? Not clear right from beginning. It is an icon and I just want to hit it. Trip Tools - back button doesn't work with everything. This isn't planning a trip, this is more transit trackers and times. Take a ton of clicks to get there. Cumbersome. Hidden. Back button issue in the stops near me. Can't go back. Want to see everything on the screen when it shows up of what is near me. Show everything and then make it able to go down deeper and get more specific if we want to. Feels very slow and hung up.||Used "Locate Me" feature||Can't go back with nearby stops. If I'm taking the train, I would go by the route. If I'm taking the bus, I'm going to go to the list of the buses, but then I have to sift through and it isn't helpful. But then you have to click and find the bus and northbound/southbound and you have to dig. App should know my location and tell me how I could get where I'm going.||Used "Locate Me" feature||2 - Difficult||Way too many steps. Requires traveler to know more than they might know. The finding seems backwards, just giving a list of buses that I may or may not know. Either force them to use the "locate me" feature or have it remember your location.||The worst one I've used for trips. It's too cumbersome and it is too many steps to get to where you need to find the bus/train routes. The name probably shouldn't be Trip Tools at this point because you can't plan a trip.||Go to my Ventra Card and the plus thing? Not very intuitive. Not the first thing you see. Not easy to find. Able to view transit history, see what routes she took. Usually put certain $ value on the card and then uses that, but not much on the Registered her card for the first time ever. When first opened "it was right there" and that's why she registered. Never did that before. Wishes that you could scan card to put in credit card information. Wants to show credit card last 4 digits on the My Ventra Cards. At times the app flickers and then went to the back page automatically. Then it removed her registered pass. Tester closed app entirely and that did not fix this issue. Then she logged out and back in.||Understands the difference. This is how she commonly add values.||Sees this as an easier option. It makes more sense to add pass||Gets nervous about buying passes, and just doesn't do that. That's why seeing transit history is so important so she knows what value to add.||Used to use CTA bus routes app, also calls the phone number to check routes. Don't use apps for trains often, but knows the schedule of trains pretty well.||Tried to click on the "dots" at the top, makes it seem like there are other options but they are no clickable. Does not have a go back button, and finds that annoying when she is on the transit page. Does not see the "Locate Me" feature.||Searched by bus/train route||Briefly looked at trip tools during remote test, but likes that this has bus routes. No back button on the train route options page. Had to go back to the main menu. Then searched for bus # in the stop # search box and it got stuck "Loading" Lots of scrolling when finding the bus route. Did not see "Sort A - Z." Tester refers to bus routes by the name vs. the number but it is sorted by the bus number. "Trip tools" makes it seem like they are going to look up a route.||Searched by bus/train route||5 - Very Easy||Wants a map Sort by bus # and name of the bus Consistent back button on trains page and bus page Sees the benefit especially for Metra riders "beautiful tool for that"||Doesn't use a lot of transit time tools. "Simple is best." Likes the design of this, matches the Ventra design but "not hard to look at" Likes to use Google a lot for finding routes and figuring out when to leave for transit purposes.||Took a little while to find the "+" button. Went to multiple pages before finding it. Thinks adding text "Add Ventra Card" would be better/||Yes||Very simple -- One security question First thing it says "To register a card..." or to "Buy Ventra Card" likes that there are only two options at the beginning.||5 - Very Easy||Scanning credit card information would be nice. Managing the accounts for people who use Ventra cards for other purchases.||Once ever year||Used to be a big Metra rider, but not anymore||Searched for UP-N, scrolled a lot to find stop locations, but did not seem frustrated. One-way ticket, went through the purchase. Wants to know if you can see the Metra ticket history. Didn't like having to add the password again||5 - Very Easy||"Oh that's cute" Likes the ticket and this function||Yes||"It was really convenient!" I was the first one this conductor saw and he was well-trained and knew how to activate it and use it.||Want to be able to swipe between cards, not use the arrow. Want autoload not to be there, if I already have autoload set up. I didn't know what it meant since I already have it set up from online. Maybe it could be "edit autoload" The lines don't line up, between the ones for the passes and then the ones at the bottom for transit history||Add money to my card||Add a recurring pass to my card||Not sure what this is, since I have autoload set up online already. Could this be to edit or change autoload?||Transit and City Mapper||Want to swipe with the circles on the top Always think of the routes by number, not by name. Would like to be able to search for my route, either name or number Didn't even see the "locate me" button. Not intuitive. Should automatically find my location. That's what I like about other transit apps. Search if I need to only. For Metra, the GPS is unreliable, so I just look at schedules.||Searched by bus/train route||Go to Google Maps to see where I need to go and see what is around there. Then search for the bus or train route. GPS/location is best for buses.||Searched by bus/train route||2 - Difficult||For Metra, very easy. I would never search for a stop on a bus. Not sure why I would do that. I have knowledge of the system. Looking for a bus - very cumbersome. Want it to know where I am. I'm not looking for a stop. Prefer location services. Difficult. Too many bus numbers and bus stops and routes. I think in term of route, not in term of stop.||This is stop driven. I think in terms of routes. The other apps think in terms of route and not stops. Other apps locate you on a map and tell you what is around. Helps you find the bus and route you need to take. Screen is too crowded. Too much info. Not helpful. I need to know how this is helping me. Favorites isn't super intuitive. That helps navigate the Trip Tools better, but I just found out that this is an option. It is nice, if you are at a stop (stop ID) but that isn't how I use it. I check before I get to the bus stop.||Yes. Easy to find.||Yes||I'd want to know why I need an account access code. It was easy, but in other forms I've filled out, I like the arrows to move between fields. That would be a nice thing to have. Pretty user friendly. No app related||5 - Very Easy||Add the arrows to move between fields, arrows to move between fields in log in screen too||Once or twice a month||Buy 10 rides and they usually last a month or more||Hard to see the "Buy Metra Tickets" choice; always go through My Metra tickets. Very easy to use, all makes sense. Nice to use Ventra value for Metra tickets. Do not like having to enter my password again to buy. Would like to use the Touch ID on the iPhone. It was annoying to enter password again and even once to click the "do not ask again" was once too much. Somehow integrate with Apple Touch ID||5 - Very Easy||Besides entering the password again, the experience was good. I just would like not to have to enter the password again.||I like the animation on the Metra tickets. Very intuitive. Like the warning that you're about to use it. And when it expires. On the 10 ride, make it clearer about how many are left. Want to know how many are left of the 10. There is a lot of real estate on the screen, could make the number on the ticket bigger.||Yes||Metra and the integration. I will ride Metra more often because of the app. I wouldn't have usually considered it as an option.||No||Not day to day. But that is because I don't ride Metra every day. If I did ride Metra every day, I would open it every day. I like the autoload option and like I don't have to think about it. But like having the app to check balance.||5 - Very Likely||I live in Chicago and ride transit.||I'll use it more often when I can use my phone at the turnstiles. Don't want to have to open the app. In iPhone, I would like there to be a pass in passbook. It isn't faster to use the phone if they have to scroll through apps.||Yes||Yes||Yes||7/15/2015 17:28:18|

Getting there is difficult within the current version of the app. Likes that the information is provided in a list view and is easily read by voice over function.||Much better than other options she has. Websites work but are not convenient.||N/A||Yes||2 - Difficult||Date of birth field issue. Form is too long. Check box doesn't work and last box doesn't have a label of what it wanted. Lack of consistency in how all of the fields were presented.||Once every six months||N/A||3 - Neutral||Yes||It has the promise to provide me with access on the go to the information my Ventra pass has. Can be more accessible and useful than any other available option as a blind transit rider.||Yes||5 - Very Likely||Easier than other option. It allows me independence!||Everything is labeled with words which is rare. Don't add pictures!||No||Yes||Yes||7/15/2015 18:01:07|

Transit history takes too long to open, would be nice to see that it's loading.||Would add value||Mostly a Metra rider, doesn't||Enable transit value autoload||Metra website's mobile rail time tracker, RTA Trip Planner, Google Maps||Likes nearby feature and that she can do that. Noted seeing destinations was helpful as a person unfamiliar with bus. Appreciates that it matches the experience at bus stop signs. Noted initially anticipated door-to-door transit directions.||Used "Locate Me" feature||Likes the alerts and color coding, as well as the countdown. Noted back button doesn't do anything, but expected it would go to previous screen..||Searched by bus/train route||4 - Easy||Expected instant results after selecting first stop, though on Metra results we also ask for destination since not all trains are scheduled to make all along route pattern.||Is more likely to use this, having gotten familiar with it, as is much easier than websites used in past.||Was able to deduce the (+) might do it, but thought it might be useful to make ore prominent, perhaps on main menu, or where "remove card" is. Doesn't remember username and password when asked for it on mobile web||No||Noted good to have password instructions while going through. Would be nice if it indicated whether to use dashes in phone number. Error for not entering city was "Please add a(n) address locality." Need to improve exception handling.||2 - Difficult||Would like to have fewer questions asked, would be easier to see if you'll need to retry, noticed some fields were in blue versus black and not sure if this indicated mandatory.||Once or twice a month||Uses monthly ticket from window||Would like to see note on ticket selection that indicates why Metra Monthly isn't available during the part of the month where it's not sold.||4 - Easy||Would be nice if screen could scroll if keyboard in the way of entering a password.||Might like more instruction about what to do.||No||It's not as intuitive as the Amazon app or LinkedIn but not a big app person. Felt can be more fluid to get to core function, or places where swiping happens is not intuitive.||No||Likes that the ticket is protected from loss, but worries about not having phone charged or problems with wireless carrier service. But is optimistic that it could be.||5 - Very Likely||Because will be able to track value in real time, use the trip tools regularly and much easier than using browser and don't know enough about third party tools.||Wants more intuitive swiping gestures, back button improvements, would like to know why must give info requested on sign-up / would like faster card registration||No||Yes||Yes||7/15/2015 18:09:05|
|Route 66 Book Stalker||iPhone 5||Kristin||Johnson||A few times since I have had it||Not applicable - I did not make a CTA ticket or pass purchase||Not applicable - I did not purchase a Metra ticket||Not applicable||Has two Ventra cards, expected to see my frequently used card on top, instead of the one I never use. Hard to toggle between the two card. Wanted it to be a swipe. Named the two cards, but doesn't show the name of one of the cards. I like that value is big, since that's what I'm using. I like that it is easy to check expiration of passes. I had autoload on for one card, and I liked the autoload toggle. Very obvious how to use. I like that Metra is included in the app, but I would like to be able to hide Metra if I don't use it. Add pass and Add autoload, why does the icon have a 1 on it? I like looking at transit history. The display on the app is messy. Why is autoload there twice? Confusing. How to unsuspend a card with a negative balance? Transit history and remove card, they are too close to the bottom of the screen. Not enough padding.||Add money to my card||Add a 30 day pass to my card||To set up autoload on the card to set it up when you go below a certain amount||CTA Transitchicago.com browser version or Google Maps||It took a long time to load, so I gave up. The layout is intuitive, like the transitchicago.com browser version. It's nice that it is included in the app. Habit is to use the browser version, but it is nice to have. The fields are really small when you have to type in important information like username and password There should be a search open entry at the top of the page. Locate me feature takes awhile to load.||Used "Locate Me" feature||Usually I use it as where I'm going, not where I am. I want the results to tell me how to get from point A to point B. Would favorite or search by the exact bus route or stop ID.||Searched by bus/train route||5 - Very Easy||Just like the transitchicago.com/bustracker.com browser version||It's more visual, but they feel extraneous. The icons seem unnecessary. This is prettier than the CTA mobile bus tracker browser. The entry fields could be bigger. It can be easy to hit the wrong thing.||The plus sign up by Ventra. It is easy to find. It's a common location and universal icon. Add New Ventra card pop-up - has the same information a few times. Some pop ups have the X at the top to close and the OK at the bottom to close. Some just have the X. Purchase Ventra card vs. Buy Metra tickets....why isn't there an item to buy Ventra cards.||Yes||Doesn't tell the rules of the password until after you've entered it and confirmed. It should tell you ahead of doing that. I like when it uses the native menus for numerical vs.text. Numerical keypad should come up for zip code. Easy. I expect to see the confirm screen, but it should be better formatted. It was as I expected.||4 - Easy||The fields seem small, so hard to move from line to line. The info that I enter and the links to other things on the page are all in the same color.||Once or twice a month||Very obvious to see where to buy a ticket. I don't know the name of my line. I know the start and end station. I get confused with the lines. I would like to be able to search by the station. I like that the accessible stations are marked. The "don't ask me again" with the password could have a better explanation. The messages that pop up between (synching, purchasing, etc.) aren't always what you'd expect them to say||4 - Easy||Couldn't start with my train line, would like to be able to search by station.||Pop up for one way ticket says "use this ticket for the first time" and it is only a one-time ticket. It is kind of confusing. Want to be able to click use vs. view the tickets. Very different than the Ventra portion. The Metra ticket feels dated. All the info is clear and understandable.||Yes||The website on the phone is not good. I like having something available to me that is designed for my mobile device. Would like to have it on my Apple Watch.||Yes||I don't know if it will replace other things for trip tools, but certainly for Ventra||5 - Very Likely||I don't like the website||I need to use it because CTA is my only form of transportation. And the website is impossible to use on the phone, so this is a great thing to have.||No||Yes||Yes||Testing something that is important and impacts a lot of people. Liked the different parts of feedback as well. Testing over Skype.||7/15/2015 18:21:33

Was able to connect to Ventra account and monitor her activity. Has transit benefits that get autoload. Wants to use her device to get on the bus (taps it) Lots of activity on my Ventra cards. One button to add a pass or card and then it would send to dialogue page that chooses between passes or value. Thinks that a lot of people only have 1 card, so thinks that this page could be simpler.||Had to click on this one to see the difference between Autoload. Learned quickly on them to figure it out.||TransitStop app||Did not have much success with the "Locate Me" took it a little while, and then it wasn't very accurate. This would be helpful on a map especially for users who do not know the area. Vague idea where she is so she would look for the stop. Had some questions about the stop names. Similarities such as Michigan & South Water or Michigan/South Water. Wants to clarify different stops and then provide them on the map to see if they actually located her on the map. Favorites icon info could be on the first transit page.||Used "Locate Me" feature||Probably would not use this app, would prefer Google Maps.||Searched by bus/train route||3 - Neutral||Wants to see how frequently the busses/trains are running especially later in the evening||Likes on Transit Stop app shows the number of minutes when it will arrive as well as the ETA time. Ex: 6 min & 6:11 PM Likes the service alerts on this app||Went directly "My Ventra Cards" "I expect the + sign will do it"||No||Password zoom in/zoom out is weird because it appears that you incorrectly input the password||4 - Easy||State, wanted to add in zip code first and have it auto populate. Only had 10 states that is weird (was not alpha order)||Once ever year||Never really use it, used to be a heavy rider when living in the suburbs||"That's nice, you can split payment" Added a new card, did "Same as My Account Information" and liked that experience Side note: proactive notification about scheduling||4 - Easy||Did not have luck with her own created test account||Didn't know where her second ticket was at first. Had to go back and show the second ticket. Wish it was displayed together for multiple tickets Metra logo is over QR code, not sure if that affects anything||No||Can't get on the bus with the app, not doing anything more than what I am already doing. Want a pop up explaining what exactly you are doing. The sync pull down in IOS did not explain what it does. Icon telling you that you are about to refresh. Like chrome. the $20.00 autoload value is floating in the middle of the page. Should be closer to the actual button to indicate your value. Transit history is good. Need to show the transit ID. Needed it to set up payment into the account.||Cant add a custom value. May need that when splitting between Metra and CTA.||Do not understand the difference between Add Autoload and add pass||DId not understand the functionality of add autoload. did not know it was pass||Time tables online. - Metra - Boothscoot.com - Google Maps for CTA||Pretty self explanitory. Favoriting is not clear. Nearby was not clear until he clicked on it. Wouldnt use it for Metra because he knows the stops. But would for CTA. The layout works for him for Metra. Telling him what time the train leaves. Does not show you what time it arrives. Takes an extra click for destination. Switch between departure and arrival time so you can say what time I want to be downtown and it tells me what train I should catch to get downtown by that time. Problems with going back one page to change what he needs to do. Text in alerts is too long and overlays (stacks on top of eachother).||Searched by bus/train route||The information was clear and updated in real time. so it was a good experience. Likes the purchase tickets feature if it were updated. The symbols are not clearly defined on their function. Would use it even more for Metra ... but would use something else for point to point. Route tracking is easier with google.||Searched by bus/train route||5 - Very Easy||Point to point would be much better. Would use the favorites function. But would like the number of clicks to be as minimal as possible.||Favorably compares. requires the user to know the method of transit.||Found it right away. Found it while playing not clearly labeled.||Yes||Likes that IL is at the top of the states list. For just a second had to figure out if he had to create an access code or is he suppose to know this code. "create access code". Maybe if it was higher in the list it would queue the user to know to create a new code.||4 - Easy||Didn't think it needed much improvement. Liked that you didnt have to input a credit card to register.||Once or twice a month||Monthly rider||An explanation for why he couldnt purchase the mobile monthly ticket. Dont think of the tickets as zones. Good experience with purchasing. Intuitive. Change the ticket wording to say that you are activating. Or using it up. Did not know he had to tap.||4 - Easy||No comment||Understood the page. Didnt know he had to tap. Didnt know the consequences that the ticket looked different. and any one trying to game the system wouldnt know until it was too late.||Yes||It digitizes the metra ticket no need for paper ticket integrates Metra into Ventra||Yes||Ride Metra Daily eliminates the need to look for a sogy ticket that is ruined halfway through the month||5 - Very Likely||Convenience. Noted difference between slider for transit value autoload but a button for adding autoload under pass. Likes that balance is clear and what's regular value and benefit value, as someone who has both in their account. Might like more to highlight what things do, though not sure exactly what that would be. Might like to be able to see both value and passes in one place rather than have separate flows to get to each and have it more explicit that there are no passes in queue when there aren't any. Transit history takes a while to load but not evident that when tapped it is loading, so tapped multiple times not realizing the tap had been accepted. Would like to be able to see further back in history.||Will add value||Will add a pass (7-day, 30-day)||Will add autoload for value or pass (unclear)||TransitStop, CityMapper (but felt too much info, just needs quick stop info)||Experience was good. Wants there to be a functioning back button from results screen and felt list of nearby stops could present what stop has what services more clear (direction per stop, for bus, for example).||Used "Locate Me" feature||During stop selection, it'd be nice if back button had a larger hot area (doesn't feel responsive enough). Train info can be more intuitively sorted. Would be nice to be able to see, when selecting stops, which one is closest. Section headers on main screen seem restating what's implicit, perhaps unnecessary.||Searched by bus/train route||3 - Neutral||Make it easier to find that feature and get to it from more places within the Trip Tools section.||It's good, has about the same functionality that many other apps have, and the alerts here are easier to find (shown prominently). Navigation between pages could be easier, though. Though the default area is My Ventra Cards, would make a better substitution for other transit apps used if the favorites/nearby were easy to find throughout the app/right up front. Would like link to view full schedule, or otherwise determine first bus/last bus. If no results shown, would be nice to pull to refresh.||Used (+) button. Noted might be confusing to some that you can see balance in My Ventra Cards or separately look up value. Noted that "I'm logged in but it wants me to log in" on being redirected to mobile website flow. User understands need for auth in mobile web experience, but noted it would be nice if would at least autofill username.||No||Started with a simple password but saw requirements after due to the keyboard. Noted it asks for at least three of following but has four bullets (one bullet is combined). Noted keyboard doesn't have "next field" skip button.||4 - Easy||Would like arrows to skip between fields (iOS), make password req's visible above keyboard.||Once every six months||When selecting a ticket type, asking for info on reduced fares took me further back than selection list when done (one step further than expected). Found "Buy More" slightly unintuitive next to the increment/decrement buttons in cart on tix.||5 - Very Easy||Would like round-trip ticket option||It's fine. Could improve "use ticket" text.||Yes||Didn't like to have to log into mobile web, likes not having to log in or remember un/pw. Metra thing is cool and last time had to pay more on board not having time to buy ticket, would be more likely.||No||Having value automatically loaded, making it easier to get to arrivals more directly on open would make it potentially replace use of other apps, but would use it a lot more if loading fare manually or riding Metra daily.||5 - Very Likely||Because it could be useful to check value.||Faster access to Trip Tools.||Yes||Yes||Yes||7/15/2015 19:18:05|

Normally, you see these apps as separate, and to see them together was great. Likes that you can purchase on the app especially at stations that do||Past remote experience: Surprised by how easy the Trip Tools is! Normally checks the schedule in the morning and evening Likes how the amount is one of the first things that you see. "I usually have a monthly transit pass, but it hasn't kicked in yet." and therefore, is using transit value. Likes that she can add the value as she walks up to the train. Takes awhile to load "Transit History," usually multiple tries.||Should be under "Add Transit Value" therefore, you click add "Transit Value" and then it gives passes an option.||Embark CTA||Searches for the "L" train. When picking the line it's not in a specific order (not alpha, not in stop order). Didn't see "Sort A-Z" thinks it would help if it was on another side. Understands the stop order Back navigation is a problem, has to use menu button. Took awhile to "Locate Me" button, but then wanted to see it on the map (expectation). Not a frequent bus rider, uses Google & CTA Transit app normally to figure out bus routes. Difficult to know how far the stops are.||Searched by bus/train route||Very quick when familiar, and thinks it would be harder when in an unfamiliar area||Searched by bus/train route||4 - Easy||Adding a map especially with Locate Me & Organization of the stops||This offers much more than Embark CTA, it's helpful to see multiple lines and options together||"My Ventra Cards" -> did not see the + sign first time around Then went to "My Metra Cards" When she first logged in did not need to register "Remove Card" maybe have it there as "Add a card" + sign wasn't very clear "Kind of make sense"||No||Issue with the zoom in/out on the password, thought there was a mistake in the password Slow load to Terms and Conditions, confirm account never loaded. Expected the QR code to come up. It's helpful to know when the ticket will expire to plan accordingly. Asking about how paper tickets get expired. "This was very fancy from what I was expecting" Just expecting a QR code to pop up Very user friendly||Yes||"Oh my gosh, yeah!"||Yes||5 - Very Likely||Trip info and trackers, and just right now seeing the dollar amount on her balance since she isn't use the pass (new job).||Map function for the "Locate me" feature would be her biggest improvement||No||Yes||Yes||First test, Chicago Health Atlas. Would like to sort stop selection list by name while buying a ticket. Going from Maywood to Geneva. Doing a one-way, a ten ride or weekend as options, choosing senior--usually does round trip so buying two. Did split payment, likes being able to move the sliders.||5 - Very Easy||Thinks it's just fine, very smooth and good.||Likes the page, likes being able to buy in advance, likes how things stored are shown pending use.||Yes||Because I can buy my Metra tickets on there, because it's simple, and because I can check my own stuff there too--not just travel times.||Yes||I usually use the app I like the best, and may remove other apps now having all this in one place.||5 - Very Likely||Wants to keep using it||Would like mapping to find location, alphabetical stop selection||At 5:46 PM||Maybe for next trips doesn't say "Departs after 5:28"||Yes||Yes||Yes||7/16/2015 16:40:58|

It seems to allow her to register a second card that is under a different user name.||just value||Monthly pass||a pass and autocharge; Does not think that autoload needs to be a separate option but instead part of the pass option||Chicago Transit Tracker Lite||It's easier to use on the Ventra app. Less clicks to find the correct stop. Uses the bus stop number when she is nearby the stop Locate me feature, first but then went back has background knowledge about which line to ride Has pink line in her favorites||Used "Locate Me" feature||Lots of scrolling through trying to find the stop, and then went to A-Z sort after a little while Was confused about the order of how stops were listed Prefers to have stops listed alphabetically, but thinks that order by station might be better for users that are from out of town||Searched by bus/train route||4 - Easy||Cursor is white on the white background when typing is required Locate me icon did not make sense until she clicked it, thought text might be helpful.||"I trusted it more because it was affiliated with Ventra" More "design-y" The "Locate me" function was not part of the old app The enter stop number also did not exist||Found it during the remote test but had confusion about what "Register a Ventra Card" meant specifically||No||Not applicable||Once ever year||Not familiar with Metra at all, so didn't know which stops to pick Ordering of stops are interesting but could not figure out the logic. He reloaded the app and it fixed. This didn't happen again. The notification on the phone when he reloaded was a day late. The problem: You can't use it to pay to get on the bus. He guesses this might be an Apple problem and not a Ventra problem. That would be his wish. Another thing he'd love to see: bus notifications. The first step to answer that question seems unclear. It's not obvious what to do. You have to know where your bus stop is and if you don't know where that is, you can't go further. There's no map.||Searched by bus/train route||3 - Neutral||To be able to search by stop name or by using a map would be helpful. Right now you can only search by stop number. It's not clear how I would change the positioning of the two cards. The buying was very clear, the autoload was simple. The actually inputting of card information was complex - she had to do it three times because she would start, not finish, and have to start over. If there was an option for password mistakes, that would make it so much easier. She had trouble with this and had to go on her laptop to figure that out. Note: the card information or "removing card" feature can be hidden, that would be useful. That would mean the history feature would move up - that is used more often. The history is useful. She had trouble toggle between the alpha keyboard and the numerical keyboard - more so than on other apps. Overall, this is simple this is.||add small amount of money now/today||planning things out for the month||adding money without thinking about it, auto payments||CTA website for the bus tracker, Google maps||This handy, but never used it. Thought it was cool. Didn't use it because I am so used to mapping things out on Google maps ahead of times. I wish there was a map here so I know where the buses pick up specifically. Sometimes it's not clear where the bus stop it. The rail information is clearer, but this would also benefit from a map. Favorites feature is nice. Also the Ventra retail location look-up. The arrival times for trains is a great feature. Toggling back and forth in this part of the app is hard, unclear. It sometimes doesn't let you go back. Overall, wish it was more visible.||Used "Locate Me" feature||Since she was familiar with what she was looking for it was very simple. She likes the service alerts.||Searched by bus/train route||5 - Very Easy||Wish the information was separated by direction.||Comparing it to Google apps, she would rely on these times more. She hasn't used it enough to confirm that trust, but since it looks like what you see at a station, it makes her think this is reliable, realtime updates.||Confusing. Went to My Ventra cards, but a new one wouldn't be "my" ventra card, right? Also, you need to remember all of your account information to set this up. Question: Are we going to be able to process passes through the actual app? If so, where do you get the new card? The app doesn't tell you this part. It makes it seem like you can use your phone to pay (like Apple pay), but this isn't the case. This should be clearer.||Yes||2 - Difficult||Created a new account accidently. Wish the app would've alerted her to an existing one.||Once ever year||Haven't done it in a year or two||It doesn't make sense what zones mean since it's been so long since she purchased a metra ticket. Wish that I could see a map or the ticket purchase layout. The metra moving graphic is cool, though. Like that you can use a QR code to purchase it. Likes the split payment option.||4 - Easy||Improve with a map||Cool. Like how the distinguish between what you are using and what you have. If I was using one line and then another, it's not clear which ticket refers to that journey. Don't see the importance of an expired ticket.||Yes||Simple. Always thinking about how simple it would be for newcomers or out of town people to use. Very simple, though I would still partner with Google maps until they can get a map feature in the app.||Yes||Because she decided on to use autoload. She can get the values organized as she is walking to the station. Easy to do. She would use the bus feature everyday.||3 - Not sure||I would recommend it, but for herself she mostly knows her daily travel and has routine. She wouldn't need ot use trip tools very often. It is handy for adding value and getting a pass, so she might keep using it.||Maps, making the app able to pay||At 5:46 PM||The "departs after 5:28pm" line is confusing since its near the results.||Yes||Yes||Yes||Lucky that she at been to CCT before - need more directions for how to get up to the site. Also, a confirmation notice with more details would be nice before the CUTgroup||7/16/2015 19:07:47|
|ChgoKC||Android Version 4.4.2||Tony||Coppoletta||A few times since I have had it||4 - Easy||Not applicable - I did not purchase a Metra ticket||Not applicable||Noted that back button exits app from My Ventra Cards rather than going back to menu. Otherwise had no additional comments.||To add more value||Doesn't know||Doesn't know||n/a||No comments (worked as expected)||Used "Locate Me" feature||Would like to be able to search for stops by name.||Searched by bus/train route||4 - Easy||Would like to be able to search for stops by name, or type in route by number or name.||n/a||Don't know, tried My Account--would probably just go online||No||Not applicable||Once every six months||Understood transit value and chose to use that split with card. Very easy to use.||5 - Very Easy||Nope.||Very self-explanatory, says what it is, when it expires.||Yes||I think it's cool. I love the whole idea of it. Everyone has a smartphone, and you don't have paper to lose and it's easy.||Yes||It'd be similar to the parking apps, where you'd keep it around and put on the home screen of your phone.||5 - Very Likely||On the weeks that she rides a lot she'd check every day.||Nothing additional. Thinks it looks nice.||Sort of both||Should be the clock time, could be clearer.||Yes||Yes||Yes||7/16/2015 19:11:46
|Brown line rider / occasional UP-N Metra rider||HTC One M8||Denise||Linn||Once a day||Not applicable - I did not make a CTA ticket or pass purchase||4 - Easy||No||Gets a federal transit benefit - normally adds that on and buys a pass with his own money. Hasn't done that yet, but he does he'll have to figure out how to do that. He knows how to do this on the website. For the app, it seems he can do the same process. Familiar. It has all the information he would want to see at a glance.||cash in the account||fare||automatically charging a card to predetermined amount||CTA train tracker (notices they have one here and it seems better - more moden, auto uploads)||Did this just before getting here since he doesn't work in this part of the Loop. He likes you can specify bus vs. rail. Intuitive.||Used "Locate Me" feature||He had done that before. Seems clear cut how to do it.||Searched by bus/train route||5 - Very Easy||Give me all the information I would normally want/expect at a glance. The bookmarking function isn't as intuitive as it could be. Icons could make more sense.||Similar to what you'd get on the CTA website only this app "looks more this decade." The back button doesn't get your back the main screen. Here you do the right swipe to get to navigation. This isn't all the clear at first. It has to be learned.||My Ventra cards, then touch the plus sign, then register Ventra card.||No||Not applicable||His original passwork was only 4 characters long and he had trouble changing the password. Also, the password requirements weren't on the app. He had to change his password correctly online before he could use the app.||Once every six months||specifically once every 2 months||Note: didn't have password for the dummy account so didn't finish purchase.||4 - Easy||It's how he would expect||Unclear how to activate and when to activate the tickets you bought. Can there be a hint screen or a help screen? He wouldn't be confident using these. This is a new feature to users of CTA, so more help would be good.||Yes||Looking forward to paying with the cellphone, but overall very useful app. For him, it will replace going to the Ventra website.||No||Just because I don't need to go to the website day-to-day.||5 - Very Likely||Likes the trip tools a lot.||The password issue was a one-time difficulty.||At 5:46 PM||What I would expect. It's intuative.||Yes||Yes||Yes||7/16/2015 19:33:00
|Occasional CTA Rider BS||Samsung S6||Jeff||Brantz||A few times since I have had it||Not applicable - I did not make a CTA ticket or pass purchase||Not applicable - I did not purchase a Metra ticket||Not applicable||Has 8 cards. and they all loaded up ok. Everything is here. But he could not change the names of his cards in the app. Did not try to load a card but assumed the + sign would perform the action. Checked the value after tapping the card and did not find the refresh to be good enough. Thought all of the adds should be all in one place. Doesnt understand why Metra is on the screen.||Usually what he would do to add money to the account. Currently uses employee benifit. Usually would do it online.||Understands after clicking what its suppose to be.||Auto reload feature - confusing that there is two.||Transit tracker and google maps for CTA||Not clear that the nearby was a feature. After launching it, he found your stop right away. Missing the point to point trip tools. Arrival times should be the name of the tool.||Searched by bus/train route||Used the A to Z function to find his stop really fast. Expected it to change from A to Z to stop order named. Discrepancy between the app and the signage at cta for arrivals. Great experience. Works as expected. As soon as this app does what he wants, he would only use this app.||Searched by bus/train route||4 - Easy||Pretty happy with it. Current app that he uses has a sole purpose of trip planning so he would still use it because its easier to get to the information faster. Really wants the app to use NFC||Same. Other than point to point. Likes that this app shows both directions right away. Likes that he doesnt have to mess with it. Metra - Found it kind of difficult because he expected it to act like CTA. very easy going forward. Finds it kind of difficult to find out if the alert matches the train that he wanted to ride. Thought it was a system ride alert. Finds Metra's website difficult to use so he would definitely use this app for Metra.||Found it right away.||No||5 - Very Easy||Less data entry||Once every six months||once every two months||Not sure when to activate it. Wants to say when purchasing the ticket not to activate until on the train. and the use screen should also say when to activate. Would like to have the tickets in use and expired bars to be visible 100% of the time.||5 - Very Easy||Purchasing was easy. Trip planner should low you to purchase ticket.||Wants the headers for all three to be there the entire time. Used , stored, and expired.||Yes||Likes what it does , but wont use it until he can pay for CTA with token. Will use it for Metra||No||Not until it can be used for NFC to get on the trains/busses||5 - Very Likely||wont use much. Mostly just for Metra on occasion. Would use it all the time if it had the token to allow for purchase on busses and rail. Would use it over using a vending machine.||Gotta pay for transit using the token||In 17 min||Thinks the information is redundant.||Yes||Yes||Yes||Doesnt like the password wrong screen going away. Wants a route planner.||7/16/2015 19:41:50
