1/17/2014 13:28:46Some of themPanel Discussion. Some what negative vibe about using ruby ;)Drop using lanyards, such a waste, people are ok with just having a sticker with their name on it.GoodYesYes

1/17/2014 13:31:27Most of themThe best part was the panel discussion, where the core theme of focussing on the Language Paradigm as to get the best viewpoint to map and solve a problem. Chads talk was also good.None of the talks were gave a "wow" effect.
Most of the talks were shallow and the learnings from those talks could have easily been acquired by reading up.
Improve the tech quotient. Review the quality of talks before putting them up.Very BadNoNo

1/17/2014 13:37:47Some of themLoved couple of talks about performance management and deep ruby talks.
Volunteers were good ( Emil, Leena )
Loved to hear the experiences ( Prateek and Yogi )
Job Board :)

Last but not the least : the blue coloured t-shirts & Food :)
At some point we were discussing things which were not about Ruby ( during the first day - sometime around panel discussion )
Yes, we need to talk about bad things of ruby, but with solutions to avoid it, not moving to other languages - this was a ruby conf.

Lets try to make it more ruby centric next time.
Lets try to make it more ruby centric next time.

Invite more and mroe devs from city. Give some time to have them talk to each other, instead of listening all the time.

May be some short ruby quiz programs ( just an idea )

In all, I loved my experience with you guys and am looking forward for it next year.

Thank you guys and all the best.

1/17/2014 13:39:36Some of themTechnical talks, panel discussion, long breaks to network and chat with other delegatesToo much focus on the community, there were at least three long talks on the community which could have been avoidable.Chairs need to be better, may be having it in some conference center instead of hotel might be a better idea.

Having a workshops before or after event would also be good

Prizes/Recognition to individuals/teams which have done good work on Ruby/Open source

1/17/2014 13:40:12Very Few of themBangalore's own ruby conf.Talks were dull and lacked energy. The venue was hardly worth the cost. Most conferences outside india are done at cheap places (vacant warehouses/stations, farmhouses, vineyards .. just get a bit creative) outside the city. Why not consider something like that instead of treading this boring path like everyone else. Priority of the conferences should be to have maximum attendance. At this cost you cannot expect that. Nothing really.GreatYesYes

1/17/2014 14:49:01Some of themThe ruby community is approachable.
And it reflects through out the conference.
You just proved the need for more ruby conferences per city.
Debate - Ruby vs Java vs Python. etc etc.
There are 100 thousands debates online.
Well organised. Continue doing the same

2 suggestions:

1) Every category of attendee should be taking something to home.
Nothing much exiting for a fresher.
2) Include more tech talks
Real time problems and solutions w.r.t ruby
Community building is important however the talks about it should be limited.

1/17/2014 20:46:02Very Few of themThe selection of talks and speakers. Talks ranged from outreach to actual code and the speakers were relevant to the audience.Perhaps more audience than just company sponsored people? This could definitely change next year with better advertising of the "get your pull request accepted and win a free ticket".Multiple tracks please. this makes the conference have talks that will sit well with different levels of skills of Ruby enthusiasts.GoodYesYes

1/18/2014 0:25:24Some of themHaving Chad, not just with his thought-provoking keynote but also for his active lively participation throughout the 2 days of the conference! Additionally, I appreicated the time given for networking. Some of the timings could be better managed. I felt the panel discussion could have had more audience participation and more interesting facilitation.
Some speakers' slides had low contrast colors that made them difficult to read.

But great conference in general! Keep up the great work!
