16171819202122First Friday Teacher Training and Student Fireside: Training is generally held on the first Friday of each month. Life Preparation Lessons are scheduled as the fireside topic or home study lesson for students in place of regular seminary. Teachers are expected to attend the monthly training, and students are expected to attend the stake fireside or complete the home study lesson.

However, this does not account for the complexity of having students with different school schedules within a single classroom. Seminary policy states, "Classes are held on weekdays when school is in session." (General Handbook: Church Organization: Seminary 15.1) Therefore, teachers should council with their stake supervisor or local coordinator when making adjustments to their teaching calendar.
