A - Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) & European Research Council (ERC) – Mobility grants (Pillar I)

1- Individual researchers
Short- and long-term mobility of researchers both ways is an important driver of the EU-LAC research and innovation cooperation. Individual researchers can take part in mobility programmes under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions scheme (MSCA).
LAC researchers may also apply for the European Research Council (ERC) grants, which are for the most ambitious and excellent researchers from all research areas.
LAC individual researchers are fully eligible for funding under MSCA and ERC.

2- Entities
LAC institutions are fully eligible to participation and to funding from the European Commission, except institutions from Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Barbados, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago and Uruguay that can participate but are not eligible for direct funding.
In some cases such as Brazil and Mexico, complementary funding mechanisms were implemented by local authorities.

B - Collaborative projects (Pillar II)
LAC entities are fully eligible to participation and to funding from the European Commission, except institutions from Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Barbados, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago and Uruguay that can participate but are not eligible for direct funding. In some cases such as Brazil and Mexico, co-funding mechanisms were implemented by local authorities.
