WeatherWeatherWeatherWeatherCityMapperA MUST download if you're going to a major city. It gives you allll the options for routes (bus vs train vs uber vs walking) and the pricing for everything. I couldn't have survived in London without this - I recommend the paid version so it works offline.

Time To Do
(include confirmation number, address, phone, etc.)
To go to a new line in a spreadsheet, hit Option, Return (on mac)
TImeTo Do
I even put what time we need to leave our house, etc. in this sheet
TimeTo Do
You can even put how long the metro rides and things are here (download the CityMapper app for travel in major cities, it's THE best map app!)
Leave open spots without time to just wander a pretty neighborhood or market! Those are usually some of our favorite times!
Example: One last croissant and champagne in our neightborhood (in Paris I always stay in hte 6th arrondissement)!
SkyScannerOur favorite website for finding flights within Europe - use the "Everywhere" option in the destination slot to see all your options for cheap travel!

Time To DoTimeTo DoTImeTo DoTimeTo DoA note on trains between countriesUse a site like Trainline to search trains and then go to the direct train site to compare prices. A lot of times, getting train tickets right off the exact train site vs. a "discount" site will be cheaper.

Time To DoTimeTo DoTImeTo DoTimeTo DoAirbnbWe almost always stayed in Airbnbs - I have a post coming soon on how to choose the best one! Use this link for a discount if it's your first time: https://www.airbnb.com/c/erinp831?currency=USD

Time To DoTimeTo DoTImeTo DoTimeTo DoA note on car rental Almost all cars, and certainly the cheaper ones, are going to be stick shift (manual), so make sure to request automatic if you can't drive manual. Also, buy the insurance online in advance, don't wait to buy it at the car rental place or it could be $200 on top of what you've alredy paid.

Time To DoTimeTo DoTImeTo DoTimeTo DoA note on cell phonesIf you have Verizon, pay the $10/day international fee to use your phone, otherwise look into a sim card through T-Mobile or when you get there
9
Time To DoTimeTo DoTImeTo DoTimeTo DoA note on currencyCall your bank in advance and try to get the currency from them before you go on your trip - the airport is usually always going to be the most expensive place to exchange money. We LOVE our Capital One Venture card for travel.
10
Time To DoTimeTo DoTImeTo DoTimeTo DoGoogle Translate AppYou can even hold your camera over a sign or menu and it will translate it to english! We didn't need this a lot because most european places speak english, but it is a nice-to-have
