This is the page for you to offer yourself as a VOLUNTEER. In addition, please check the "PEOPLE IN NEED" spreadsheet for specific requests--see tab below. IF YOU ARE IN NEED, feel free to contact any of the people listed below AND/OR enter your need by clicking on the "People in Need' tab at the bottom of this page. DON'T BE SHY -- PEOPLE WHO SIGNED UP WANT TO HELP!PLEASE DO NOT VOLUNTEER IF YOU ARE A LIKELY ASYMPTOMATIC VECTOR, AS VERY RECENT STUDIES INDICATE SUBSTANTIAL SPREAD FROM SUCH INDIVIDUALS. ALL VOLUNTEERS SHOULD TAKE EXTENSIVE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS REGARDLESS - DISINFECT ANY SURFACES/OBJECTS TOUCHED, MAINTAIN PHYSICAL DISTANCE, WEAR A MASK IN A GROUP

SUGGESTED ETIQUETTE: Bring them a receipt when you deliver the goods. If you're in a position to forego reimbursement, that's a generous and wonderful choice you can make or not. To get reimbursed, Paypal or Venmo are ideal. If that's not possible, ask the person to put cash or a check in an envelope. They should NOT lick the envelope. You might want to wait for 9 days before opening the envelope and handling the $ and/or wash your hands after handling it. (Cash is very germy). I'm pretty sure you can use someone's EBT (food stamps) card on their behalf. You may be delivering to immune-compromised people so be mindful of your hygeine -- be sure to have clean hands and/or wear clean gloves.Community Agreements: We Keep Us Safe - The systems around us are not prepared to keep the most vulnerable safe in times of heightened crisis. We take it upon ourselves to build networks of grassroots power in order to ensure we are taken care of and have a vision for what collective power looks like going forward. We agree that in these times we will be empathetic, open about our needs and capacity, curious about what more can be done, and engage in soliderity for all members of our community.
