El Cerrito High Girls Mentorship ClubThis club will act as a mentorship program for girls entering ECHS from Korematsu middle school. 8th grade girls from Korematsu will be matched up with Junior girl mentor-buddies at ECHS to help them navigate the transition from middle to high school. The older girls, as juniors, will then be able to be with their mentees when they enter ECHS for their freshman year. The older buddeis will help explain how ECHS functions, where classes are, ease any worries the younger girls have, as well as get to know their mentees to help foster a community atmosphere and promote gaucho spirit. By doing so, the transition between schools should become smoother with the mentor-girls as an outlet for any worries or questions.
