5	Boones Mill	Holly Jo's												Milkshakes! Very casual with lots of sandwiches.
6	Catawba	The Homeplace												The epitome of southern comfort food. Served family style and all you can eat. Originally opened in the 1982, closed during covid, and recently reoopened in 2026 -- serving the exact same recpies that people travel from all corners to taste. You can also order by the plate, but where's the fun in that? Lunch only served on Sat and Sun.
7	Cave Spring	El Rodeo												Meg's go-to Tex-Mex. Staff is friendly and food is always predictable. Best salsa in town.
8	Cave Spring	El Mezcal												A great lunch spot. Order the build-your-own burrito (red sauce and cheese sauce) and you'll have plenty left over for dinner.
9	Cave Spring	Remini's												If you're hungry and craving italian, look no further. Rustic flavor and huge portions! Opt for the Chicken Parmesan
10	Cave Spring	Brambleton Deli												Dark, classic sports bar with consistently tasty food. Subs, salads, BLTs. If you're a Browns fan, this is your place to watch the games.
11	Cave Spring	Luigi's												Little hole-in-the-wall Italian spot that's been here for decades. Family owned and operated. The menu hasn't changed since the '80s, but its predictable and tasty. Chicken Marsala and antipasto appetizer.
12	Cave Spring	Full Moon Cafe												The most delicious chocolate chip cookies of all time. Classic breakfast and bagel sandwiches. Also available: bulk pasta salad, chicken salad, sides, etc.
13	Cave Spring	Cafe Asia 2												Tasty asian dishes and sushi.
14	Downtown	Ernie's												Dive/diner serving breakfast and lunch. Ernie's has been a Roanoke staple for decades. Must try the potato cake!
15	Downtown	Jack Brown's												Modern pub style serving creative burgers and beer. Go for the Greg Brady with fries and Jack Brown sauce
16	Downtown	202 Social House												Sports bar atmosphere with lots of seating and a whiskey room/speakeasy in the back.
17	Downtown	Bread Craft												All homemade pastries, bread, etc. Great brunch dishes. High-test coffee.
18	Downtown	Three Notch'd												VA-based brewery with easy, tasty food -- soft pretzels, brunch items, etc.
19	Downtown	Alexander's												High end French-American fare. Best restaurant in town. Order the deconstructed California Roll for your starter. Scallops or filet (medium rare) with maitre'd butter as your main. Tell Bjorn and Boni that Meg sent you :)
20	Downtown	Roanoke Weiner Stand												Roanoke staple open since 1916, famous for chili dogs
21	Downtown	Sidecar												Bavarian style fare in a delightful atmosphere. Steak frites is to die for.
22	Downtown	Lucky												Elevated Southern fare. Known for craft cocktails. Order fried chicken and "The Cube"
23	Downtown	Liberty Trust \| The Vault												High end ecclectic fare in an old bank (vault and all).
24	Downtown	Texas Tavern												Dive-y-est of dives. Roanoke staple famous for the Cheesy Western. Don't ask for Ketchup. Open 24 hours/day, 365 days/year.
25	Downtown	Stellina												Speakeasy style, food comes from Fortunato.
26	Downtown	Wasabi's												Typical asian lunch fare.
27	Downtown	Six and Sky												Rooftop restaurant with seafood, steak, and spirits. Beautiful to sit outside in warmer months.
28	Downtown	City Market Building												9 various eateries in a food court setting.
29	Downtown	Martin's												American fare. Creative burger of the month. Always offers veg, turkey, and grilled chicken burger replacement options. Go for the mac + cheese side. 1/2 price burgers on Mondays. Weekends can get a little crazy, as they usually feature bands.
30	Downtown	Billy's												Upscale, but casual and affordable. Famous for their Shrimp and Grits. In the warmer months they have a cozy back patio.
31	Downtown	Jaybird Tavern												Tavern style pizza with flair. Start with Bar Meatballs and Crispy Brussels, then move on to the Ace of Spades pizza.
32	Grandin	Grace's Place												Buy a pitcher and get $2 off your pizza. What more is there to say?

37	Hollins	Hollywood's												Menu very similar to Evie's. Fresh, healthy options, lots of flavor. And delicious desserts!
38	Old Southwest	Evie's Bistro												Cute european style Bistro + Bakery with delicious house-made desserts. Great soup + salad specials.
39	Salem	Mama Maria's												Crispy, thick crust pizza with fresh toppings. Pasta and other italian dishes. Garlic knots are delish. Also serve homemade gelato.
40	Salem	Papa's Pizza												Traditional American style pizza. Casual pasta dishes.
41	Salem	Garcia's Bistro												This place serves it all -- authentic Mexican dishes, southern style comfort food, breakfast all day, etc. Try the shrimp tacos, the meatloaf (huge portion), and the white bean chicken chili.
42	Salem	Big Daddy's BBQ												The best BBQ Meg's ever eaten...ever. You can split the "Texas Trinity" -- make sure you get the cornbread, mac + cheese, and potato salad as your sides.
43	Salem	Joe's Deli												Subs. Big portions and fresh ingredients. The Italian is a classic with big flavor.
44	Salem	Hanging Rock Tavern												If you're looking for a casual hang with lots of activity, live music, and outdoor space, this is your spot! The menu isn't huge, and it's more of a brewery setting, but I've always enjoyed my time there. Jalepeno Popper Burger is a spicy treat.
45	Salem	Sycamore Station												Amazing lunch spot with hyper-local flair. Run by the Hinchee-Pace family, it's a nod to Salem history with nearby nature and hiking trails. It's also a lovely spot for unique, handmade gifts and decor by local artisans. Delicious, healthy lunches and handmade pastries! Dog friendly outdoors.
46	Salem	Szechuan												Classic chinese. Best in town for takeout. Make sure you're ordering from the Salem (Ridgewood Farms) location.
47	Salem & Downtown	Frankie Rowland's												High end steakhouse. Sides served separately.
48	Salem & Grandin	AllSports												The best wings in town, and even better french fries (shoestring). Big, hearty salads. Atmosphere leaves something to be desired. Outdoor seating/Dog Friendly outside at Grandin location only. Meg's order: 6 wings + fries, breaded, garlic hot, all flats.

50	South Roanoke	Montano's												Something for everyone on this looooong menu. From casual bar food to steak and pasta dishes. Dinner go-to is the Veal Marsala or Chicken Artichoke.
51	Towers	Bobby's Hot + Cheesy												The BEST pizza. Chewy, crispy crust. Lots of unique topping combos. Meg's go-to is the pesto meatball pizza or the cuban sandwich.
52	Towers	BubbleCake												Desserts only -- connected to Bobby's. Decadent cupcakes, cakes, cookies, and much more!
53	Wasena	Bloom												Locally-sourced seasonal small plates. Menu rotates often.
54	South Roanoke	Crystal Spring Grocery												Part hipster grocery store, part wine store, part deli, part restaurant, part gift shop, all good stuff! Free wine tastings on Thursdays. Meg's go to order: smoked salmon tartine.
