Details: Monday, Jan 21st (all day) we are heading to Washington, NC (not DC!) to volunteer with the United Methodist Committee on Relief for assistance to hurricane victims in the area. We will be assisting in the build of 120 sets of bunkbeds that will be used in many reconditioned homes as well as in some local churches that house visiting volunteers. We will be outside. Monday forecast is cold (high of 36) and sunny, so wear layers that you can peel off as your physical exertion warms you. UMCOR says they have all materials and tools, but hammer, measuring tape, protective eyewear and ear protection are helpful if you have them. Bring work gloves and clothes that can get dirty. Extra drills, chop saws and extension cords might prove helpful as well.
