Ivy Tech Community College
High School Dual Credit Crosswalk
Academic Year 2021-2022
Course Prerequisites
2
The following courses may be considered for high school-based dual credit if the course at the high school meets the following conditions:
1. The high school course is on the list of the Indiana Department of Education with an appropriate course number and description.
2. Dual credit agreements are based on The Ivy Tech Community College policy requirements outlined in ASOM 4.3 with specific attention to the following:
a. Prerequisites: All secondary students taking dual credit courses must meet the academic prerequisites for the course.
b. Course content: Course syllabi used for high school-based dual credit courses must be comparable to course syllabi used in the same courses taught on an Ivy Tech campus, including class assignments, laboratory equipment and examinations. Textbooks shall be comparable.
c. Student learning outcomes: Student learning outcomes must be the same as student learning outcomes expected for the same course taught on the Ivy Tech campus.
d. Faculty credentials: High school faculty teaching a course for dual credit must meet the credential requirements of the Indiana Department of Education and of Ivy Tech
Community College.
3. Special Notes:
a. If the specific learning objectives for an Ivy Tech course are achieved across multiple high school DOE courses, then the student enrolls in the Ivy Tech dual credit course in the semester in which mastery of the Ivy Tech subject matter and learning objectives is achieved.
b. There is no limit to the number of credit hours a student may earn through dual credit programs.
c. The sequence of courses must be consistent with Ivy Tech course pre-requisites.
4. If the high school course qualifies under the requirements outlined above and ASOM 4.3, this crosswalk of courses must be followed.
5. Core Transfer Library (CTL) courses are in bold font.
6. Please note that the ITCC Dual Credit Crosswalk does not include all of the NLPS courses.
