Title: Next-Generation Fluorophores for Multiplexed Fluorescence Imaging: From IF to Super-Resolution

The performance of fluorescence microscopy experiments is strongly influenced by the choice of fluorophores. In this seminar, Dr. Dawid Lbik (abberior GmbH, Göttingen, Germany) will provide practical insights into how modern dyes can improve image quality, stability, and experimental flexibility across a range of imaging applications.

The session will focus on key dye properties such as brightness, photostability, and spectral compatibility, and how these compare to commonly used dyes. A particular emphasis will be placed on multiplexed immunofluorescence (IF) in cells and tissues, including strategies to increase the number of targets while maintaining robust and reproducible staining.

In addition, the seminar will highlight how optimized labeling approaches enable advanced imaging techniques such as STED and DNA-PAINT, as well as live-cell imaging. An outlook will be given on how these strategies can be extended to high-content workflows, including the combination of multiplexed assays with downstream super-resolution analysis such as automated STED.
