In order to use the ContractSafe Contract Management Template, you'll need to make a copy of it yourself to edit.

As the primary contract handler, work from the "MASTER" tab; every other tab is populated from it.

SUGGESTION: If you want to give colleagues visibility into contracts, only share permissions by the department they're a part of. To do that, you'll need to create a new spreadsheet for each tab or way you want to share info to contacts. You can do this by:

1.) Clicking on the tab you want to share and copy the spreadsheet's URL.
2.) Use IMPORTRANGE: In the new spreadsheet, in cell A1 (or any cell), enter the formula: =IMPORTRANGE("URL", "SheetName!Range"). Replace "URL" with the copied URL and "SheetName!Range" with the tab name and desired cell range.

The Template departments, contract types, contract sub-types, and the status fields key off of drop down fields. If you want to switch that out, you can by clicking on one of the drop downs and hitting the pencil button. Swap out with options that work for your current contract process!

Column "I" is a calculation based on the start and end date of your contract info you input.

An automatic notification rule is set up for when a contract hits 30 days remaining until expiration using "Conditional Notification". It will send an email reminder to any primary stakeholders you've identified in column Q.

You can set additional conditional notification rules, but it will get a bit more complicated.

The spreadsheet is meant to be used as a starting point and we encourage you to add your own fields once you get a better hang of it!
