Set Up

Input the data of the employees in the "Set Up Allotment" tab, including their total allotments for vacation leave, sick leave, and personal leave. If the employee doesn't have allotted leave for any of those, just leave it blank.
*please ensure there are no duplicates of employee names* you can add a differentiator such as the first initial of their last name, etc., if you have employees with the same first name.

How to input Absences?

1Please make sure that the employee names are in the "Set Up" tab before going to the other tabs.

2Go to the "Absences & Lates" tab.

3In the "Absences & Lates" tab, do not edit Column B.

4Go to the Absences table, choose employee name from the drop down in column C.

5To input the start date and end date, double click the cell to show the calendar and click the date.

6In Column F input the total used leave (must be a number).

7Lastly, choose in the dropdown what type of leave to be used (Column G). *do not leave this one blank; it will not be counted in the dashboard if the leave type is blank*

8To view the absences of each employee or the company overall, go to the "Dashboard" tab. *do not edit anything in the Dashboard tab as all of the absences will auto-populate in the dashboard tab*

How to input Lates?

1Please make sure that the employee name is in the "Set Up" tab.

2Go to the "Absences & Lates" tab.

3In the "Absences & Lates" tab, do not edit Column I.

4Go to the Lates table, choose employee name from the drop down in column J.

5To input the date of the late (Column K), double click the cell to show the calendar and click the date

6In Column L, input the total minutes the employee was late (must be a number) - i.e., instead of 2 hours, must be 120 minutes

7To view the lates count for each employee go to "Dashboard" tab. *do not edit anything in the Dashboard tab, all of the lates will auto populate in the dashboard tab*

How to input Protected Leaves?

1Please make sure that the employee name is in the "Set Up" tab

2Go to the "Protected Leaves" tab.

3In the "Protected Leaves" tab do not edit Column B.

4Choose the employee's name from the drop down in column C.

5To input the start date and return date (Column D & E) double click the cell to show the calendar and click the date.

6Choose in the dropdown what type of protected leave (Column F) *do not leave this one blank it will not be counted in the dashboard if the leave type is blank*

7To view the count of protected leaves for each employee or the company, go to "Dashboard" tab. *do not edit anything in the Dashboard tab; all of the protected leaves will auto populate in the dashboard tab*

8*Important Note*: You must select only the leaves that are applicable to your province/territory/jurisdiction. The tracker includes as many leaves across Canada as possible, which means that some leaves may not apply to your jurisdiction. How to use the template for next year?

4Update Column V4 to AG4 to 2025, double click the cell to show the calendar.
