Vegetable Crop Planning Tool
3
Use this spreadsheet to establish a new crop production plan or organize your existing one. This template allows farmers to generate separate greenhouse and planting schedules from a primary crop plan.
4
Directions:
5
To use this tool, you will need to make a copy of it on your Google Drive using a Google account (File > Make a copy).
6
1. Start in the CROP PLAN sheet. Enter your field bed width (D27), high tunnel bed width (D28), and high tunnel length (D29).
7
2. Add your crops in the CROP PLAN sheet. This is your primary crop plan.
8
- edit white cells with your crop plan data. DO NOT change green cells or rearrange columns, and DO NOT rename sheets (formulas and scripts may lose function).
9
- add new rows to make room for additional crops and successions (right click any cell > + insert one row above)
10
- insert all of your crops and successions
11
- copy formulas down from the line above (in each green column, click on bottom right corner on row 2 and drag down to last crop row)
12
3. To create the Greenhouse Schedule, complete the CROP PLAN sheet, then click "Generate Plans>Generate Greenhouse Schedule" on the Menu Bar.
13
- A message will pop up that reads "a script attached to this document needs your permission to run." Click "OK"
14
- Log in to your Google account
15
- Click "Advanced" (the sheet is running scripts, and Google is making sure the source of this code is safe)
16
- Click on "Go to OAK Crop Planning", then "allow" to proceed
17
4. To create the Planting Schedule, click "Generate Plans>Generate Planting Schedule" on the Menu Bar.
18
5. Hide columns that you do not want to see in the print version (right click on the column header >"Hide column").
19
6. Format the generated schedules as desired (font, size, column width, borders, number format, etc.).
20
7. Set up a print friendly version of the generated schedules:
21
- Highlight the cells you want in the printed plan
22
- Click File>print
23
- Select Print: Selected Cells / Page Orientation: Landscape / Scale: Fit to Width / Margins: Narrow / Formating: Show Gridlines
24
- Select Headers and Footers you want to include or click "Edit Custom Fields" and enter your desired Headers and Footers
25
- Check "Repeat Frozen Rows" to retain column titles at the top of each page
