👋 Welcome, educator! If you're looking for an efficient way to track and communicate learners' progress, this tracker was built for you.
7
8
To get started, please follow the steps below. If you prefer, you can watch this video explanation.
9
1) In the Editable tab, enter your learners' names in Column B. If you like, you can also enter codes/nicknames in Column C.
10
2) In the Editable tab, enter information about upcoming lessons in Rows 3-6. Hyperlinks are optional.
11
3) In the Editable tab, use these letters to mark learners' progress:
x if a lesson has been mastered
r if a learner needs to revise
o if a lesson is optional
12
The By Learner tab will display each learner's status relative to pace, and the next lesson to work on.
The
By Lesson tab will show the learners currently working on each lesson.
The
Dashboard tab will give you an overview of your learners' progress.
The
Group Generator will help you create groups based on progress.
13
14
You can now use this sheet to track up to 100 learners, for an entire school year (100 lessons). Whenever you start a new unit, just cut and paste the green cell in Editable Row 2.
15
16
But wait! There's more! You can also:
17
Auto-generate checklists and/or game boards.
18
Use Form Mule to notify students and/or caregivers of progress.
19
Connect this sheet to a Google Form, which learners can use to share their status each day.
20
Add Learner Status to the Editable tab, and let students update their own information.
21
★ Add your own input values and/or lesson classifications.
22
23
No matter how you use this tracker, we recommend that you:
24
Respect learner privacy. If you share this tracker publicly, here are a few ways to control visibility.
25
Keep things simple! Aim for 1-2 columns per lesson, with a logical numbering system.
26
Update the tracker daily. A few minutes per day will help you and your learners stay on track.
27
28
And don't be afraid to tinker! You can always come back and copy this sheet.
