PURPOSE: Tests confirm that the horse is supple and moves freely forward in a clear steady rhythm, accepting light contact with the bit. The horse demonstrates greater understanding of the aids and calm acceptance of the bridle; greater emphasis is placed on relaxation, harmony, rideability and pure gaits. The horse is beginning to develop more impulsion and balance.JUDGE:Ida Norris

4Rider’s Correct and Effective Use of the AidsEvidenced by the horse's responsiveness; steady elastic connection cultivating athletic expression. Accuracy - precise placement of the figures and transitions, the effectiveness of the rider's aids determines the accurate fulfillment of the required movements of the tests66todays performance did not cultivate athletic performance: energy is needed to correct the jog rhythm . walk needs to mark and at least track up, free walk is rewarded when overtrack is show. SEe the requirements aboe on this test: at this level the horse must be freely forward with energy.... in the com ing levels this horse will need collection which is SPRING off the hocks.. requires impulsion.
31
5HarmonyThe horse accepts the aids and influence of the rider with attention, relaxation and confidence; and demonstrates a willing partnership between horse and rider resulting in a free flowing performance6212this horse is kindly and very very quiet, however despite the fact that the horse is willing this is not a "FREE FLOWING" performance as it is not freely forward or in balance. poll at all levels is to be the highest point . today this horse was purposefully positioned downhill with a wide low hand.. that put the horse poll below withers with shoulders and neck low : that means the horse is on the 4 hand and this today affected his impulsion, length of gadget and horse was often ground bound in the jog. this lack of energy and positioning downhill byrider adversely affected this horse jog rhythm today.
32
This willing horse if allowed to be more uphill in blance and encouraged to flow freely forward with energy looks to be a very good candidate for WD work. Please select attire to be more "western themed" to be more approrprate for this division.
